The Wastelands, PFNP, AZ
3/2/2026 The Wastelands, PFNP, AZ - It is a badland near the Mountain Lion Mesa. There are three layers: the bottom, middle, and top mesa. I’ve hiked the middle and bottom layers. At the place to place, stackup or spreading rocks/boulders that are good for petroglyphs, but I couldn’t find much. When the weather is nice, this place is a nice place to hike around.

Sinarump Point, Fredonia, AZ
3/7/2026 Sinarump Point, Fredonia, AZ - I met Bill at the gate. He told me, he accidentally found nice pictographs. He kindly took me to the site. It is sort of hiding, and white bold pictographs and beautiful, and it is easy to miss it. Thank you Bill, without your help, I am sure I would never have found it. I had two waypoints for the RA. He joined me to hike to find it, but it was bogus.

Colorado City Knoll, AZ
3/8/2026 Colorado City Knoll, AZ - I thought I could find the petroglyphs, but instead I found water glyphs that indicate the location of the water source. Usually located at the higher side of the cliff, and on the flat rock. I’m not so interested in water glyphs, I prefer regular petroglyphs and pictographs.

Duck Rock Loop Trail, Valley of Fire State Park, NV
3/9/2026 Duck Rock Loop Trail, Valley of Fire State Park, NV - The park has a new beautiful visitor center now. I’ve hiked many places in this park before, but this trail was missing, so that hike up today. Not so difficult to hike to find the duck rock, in addition to there are a few water tanks nearby. Soon I found the petroglyphs panel, and there are many figures on it. The trail to the petroglyphs panel was not difficult; however, I was in the badlands after the panel. It is less than a mile, but I was struggling to hike down and up the badlands. All those are good memories by now.

Lake Mead, NV
3/9/2026 Lake Mead, NV - I came to Lake Mead many times a long time ago. The water level is so low that I can see many small islands pop up. Even a low water level, dark blue water that matches the background of the mountain range, beautiful place.

Willow Beach, AZ
3/10/2026 Willow Beach, AZ - This place is on the Colorado River side and below Lake Mead; however, the water level is always the same, which contrasts with Lake Mead. Lake Mead must release a certain amount of water regardless of whether Lake Mead needs water or not, because people below the river are depending on it. I was here to see the petroglyphs. There are some petroglyph sites by boat only. I thought they had a tour, but they didn't. I have to come here with the boat driver(captain) next time.

Chloride Old Mine, AZ
3/10/2026 Chloride Old Mine, AZ - This is one of the small old chloride mines. There is no information posted, so no clue. I’ve walked around, surrounded by a mountain range all around except the south side. Very quiet and peaceful place, busy highway is about 4 miles away.

Hum-Me-Chomp Site, AZ
3/12/2026 Hum-Me-Chomp Site, AZ - Try to reach this petroglyph site from Highway 95. There are so many ATV roads, it’s easy to get confused. When I reached the near Colorado River, I was already too tired to continue to hike on the deep gravel road. I couldn’t make another 5 miles RT, also it was hot. Next time, try a boat to reach the site.

Eagle Pass, Needles, CA
3/13/2026 Eagle Pass, Needles, CA - There is a petroglyph site in the Sacrament Mountain Range. I thought the site was located by the roadside, but I was wrong, the site is high up, a short distance from the road in the mountain range. However, the mountain is too steep and too big, and don’t know how to hike up the reroute to reach it. If I come here next time, I need more research before coming.

Sears Point, AZ
3/16/2026 Sears Point, AZ - I did some homework to come here at this time that helped me to find the petroglyphs. I found many petroglyphs and took over 200 photos of them today. I learned that when I reached the bottom of the top cliff wall, the trail continued to the top of the mesa trail and led to another site that was much easier than hiking to the bottom of the butte. I had a great time here today.

No Name Canyon, near Painted Rock, AZ
3/17/2026 No Name Canyon, near Painted Rock, AZ - The original plan was a couple of miles of a short hike today. Canyon, Cliffs, and Mesa Top are public land; however, the surrounding canyon is private property, and no trespassing signs are all over. To avoid private property, end up 7.5 miles of difficult up/down steep cliffs and hot temperature no shade of the mesa hike. In addition to the location of the sun, I couldn’t find any petroglyphs. What’s a day!

Bates Well, South of Ajo, AZ
3/19/2026 Bates Well, South of Ajo, AZ - There are a few historical buildings that remain in this area. I have a waypoint of RA, but it was bogus. There are several mountains surrounding, but I saw an illegal immigrant sign that made me worry, and I don’t want to spend time finding petroglyphs.

Winterburg, Tonopah, AZ
3/20/2026 Winterburg, Tonopah, AZ - I tried and tried to reach the RA sites, but failed. Finally, a local told me to go county road then Powerline Road to get there. This suggestion did work. I found some Petroglyphs. I’ve hiked 104°F temperature, a little disoriented, but totally worth finding it.

Ryan Henge, NV
3/22/2026 Ryan Henge, NV - Western Elite Landfill, where Ryan Henge is located, on Highway 93, a short distance north of Coyote Springs Golf Course. I found this place accidentally. I never knew Nevada had a henge. There are other things than henge, a sundial, a human-sized chess mat, an old train with history, old fire tracks, and more. Today is Sunday, no one here to ask. I don’t even know if I can walk around. There are more, but I hesitated to walk around, maybe next time visit here during the weekdays.

Seaman Wash, Basin and Range National Monument, NV
3/23/2026 Seaman Wash, Basin and Range National Monument, NV - I was hoping to find the rock art. Some segments of the Seaman Wash have many great rocks and beautiful mountains, but I couldn’t find any rock art. There are no visitors and very quiet. The dirt road is well-maintained.

Sixmile Flat (I), NV
3/24/2026 Sixmile Flat (I), NV - It’s a beautiful area, there are many rounded boulders covering the hill/mountains, an unusual phenomenon to see. The dirt road is well-maintained. If I can find petroglyphs, this is close to the heaven that I thought, and a few minutes later, I actually found a petroglyph panel.

Sixmile Spring, NV
3/25/2026 Sixmile Spring, NV - Sixmile Spring water is very cold. Near the Sixmile Spring, there are a washe, and both sides of washe are stack up the beautiful boulders. The wash is line up one after another. Amazing place to hike around.

Sixmile Flat (II), NV
3/25/2026 Sixmile Flat (II), NV - There are many petroglyphs between scratches on the boulders, but they are not easy to find, especially because they are not deep enough. There are tons of boulders here; it’s easy to spend a week looking at all the boulders to find the petroglyphs. It is a beautiful area.
