Confluence of LCR and Zuni River, AZ
2/1/2026 Confluence of LCR and Zuni River, AZ - This is the place where the Zuni River branches out from the Little Colorado River. It is a good place for the RA, I was wrong; all I can see is dirt and weeds. However, I saw a group of rocks a little distance away. I’ve hiked to see it, rocks/boulders/rock walls are very nice, but no RA, disappointed today.

Crystal Ridge, PFNP, AZ
2/3/2026 Crystal Ridge, PFNP, AZ - I spent a lot of time finding the Crystal Ridge; there is no information on the Petrified Forest National Park map, and I asked a couple of rangers, but their answer was "don’t know". Finally I’ve asked the right person, and he mentioned to me the location that was much closer than I thought. There are many petrified woods around here. I found the petroglyphs, which are between the petrified woods. It is a beautiful and colorful area.

Angell Site, Winona, AZ
2/5/2026 Angell Site, Winona, AZ - There are only a few petroglyphs, and the quality is not good. Some segments of the road were rough. Overall it is not recommended to go there.

Contenue Panel, Dead Wash, PFNP, AZ
2/8/2026 Contenue Panel, Dead Wash, PFNP, AZ - I never expected to see the wall full of petroglyphs in this remote area. I called it "Contenue Panel" because petroglyps are contenue to back of the rock wall. I feel like I got a jackpot, lucky day.

Wenima South, Springerville, AZ
2/10/2026 Wenima South, Springerville, AZ - Wenima Wildlife Area has three separate petroglyph sites: south, main, and north. This Wenima South is by the Little Colorado River. There are many nice boulders for the rock art, but I found only a few petroglyphs. I expected much more, so I was little disappointed.

Wenima Main, Springerville, AZ
2/10/2025 - Wenima Main, Springerville, AZ - Finding petroglyphs in Wenima South was disappointing, so I stopped by Wenima Main to enjoy the petroglyphs. One area of the higher side of the cliff wall has a good number of petroglyphs.

Dry Wash, PFNP, AZ
2/15/2026 Dry Wash, PFNP, AZ - Parked other than parking lots are very tricky in PFNP. I called weeds, but park called vegetations, if park the car on the vegetations, you will get a ticket. Today I’ve parked my car no weeds, a means no vegetations open area, and hiked on the wash. I was expected to see some rock art, but no rocks both sides of wash for this particular segment of the wash that was disappointed. But nice day to hike today.

Lot’s Wife, PFNP, AZ
2/16/2025 Lot’s Wife, PFNP, AZ - I found the name of the place later called "Lot’s Wife", I don’t know the meaning of this yet. East side view from the road is beautiful, and other side, west side view is more beautiful, just hike around is enjoyable. However I found a petroglyphs panel, only one panel but a few figures on it.

Boulder Butte, PFNP, AZ
2/16/2026 Boulder Butte, PFNP, AZ - Boulders are spreading out on the small hill I called the "Boulder Butte". I was expected to find the some petroglyphs. I found a couple not old petroglyphs.

Lithodendron Wash(I), PFNP, AZ
2/22/2026 Lithodendron Wash(I), PFNP, AZ - Lithodendron Wash is very long, and some segments are very wide. I’ve hiked one of the segments of the wash today. In this segment, there are many rocks/boulders and cliff walls. Luckily, I found some petroglyphs in one area.

Lithodendron Wash(II), PFNP, AZ
2/24/2026 Lithodendron Wash(II), PFNP, AZ - A couple of days ago, I hiked Lithodendron Wash bed, and wanted to hike the higher side. Today I’ve hiked the higher side, middle layer, that is between the bottom of the wash bed and the top of the mesa. Hopefully to find some petroglyphs, because there are tons of rocks/boulders. Unfortunately found nothing, but nice weather and remarkable rock configuration, enjoyed hiking in a special area.

Black Forest, PFNP, AZ
2/27/2026 Black Forest, PFNP, AZ - I thought this was funny. I’ve hiked 12 miles and found just one petroglyph. Better than nothing, but... A good thing was that I stopped by the Flat Iron Panel and took some photos on the way to the Black Forest. In the Black Forest where I was, there are many nice rocks/boulders for the petroglyphs. I checked all over, but I think I missed it. Nice petroglyphs panels are hiding that as my excuse.
