Tongue Canyon, Dayton, WY

8/2/2026 Tongue Canyon, Dayton, WY - By the Tongue River, there is a narrow dirt road parallel to the river. It is not easy to hike on the road because road is narrow. Both sides of the river/road are tall sandstone cliffs and spectacler view.


Anna Miller Museum, New Castle, WY
8/3/2026 Anna Miller Museum, New Castle, WY - This museum is only access to the Whoopup Canyon RA by Lucos(Tour Guide). Inside the museum is a lot of staff that donated by the locals. Also outside the museum, Jenney Atackade Cabin, Greenmountain Shoolhouse, Novak-Miller Cabin are belong to the museum.


Middle Fork of Powder River, Kaycee, WY
8/6/2026 Middle Fork of Powder River, Kaycee, WY - The RA site is also called Wold Rock Art District. It is a beautiful red rock area by the Powder River. I found two separate rock art panels not too far from each other, and all of them are pictographs. Later, I noticed that the area is on private property. If you would like to go there, be careful.


Hells Half Acre, WY
8/6/2026 Hells Half Acre, WY - It is a untachable bad land. We look down from higher side of the view deck to see it. All look like so fragile. There is no hiking trail in the badland, that the way keep original beauty. People are keep coming but not stay too long.

Big Sandy Recreation Area, WY

8/8/2026 Big Sandy Recreation Area, WY - This lake water is poison, that the why not many visitors, and information posted a few places. I used water pomp up from the ground, I thought it is safe because water just came out from the ground, but next day start to itchy whenever I touched that water. Beautifu large size lake that for just look.


Tolar Site, Rock Springs Area, WY
8/10/2026 Tolar Site, Rock Springs Area, WY - I can see the site from the highway, and too good to pass up. I stopped by to say "Hi" to old friends. It is not far from the highway exit, and I enjoyed walking around the site.

Robbers Gulch, WY

8/10/2026 Robbers Gulch, WY - This place is similar to the Cathedral Gorge SP, NV, much smaller scale. All visible mounts are made by sand, and very fragile. It is beautiful and multi-color.

Gibraltar Rock, near Steamboat Springs, CO

8/11/2026 Gibraltar Rock, near Steamboat Springs, CO - Gibraltar means that never breaks or fails under the pressure, giant rock formed millions of years ago. This gibraltar rock is 75-105ft steep stone bluff located westside of Steamboat Springs near Hayden.

Roadside RA, Myton, UT

8/13/2026 Roadside RA, Myton, UT - I found many RAs the last time I was here; I had a good time. I stopped by the roadside cliff wall area, hopefully to find some RAs. I found some, but not many. I enjoyed the process of finding RA.

Red Man Cave, Timple Valley, UT

8/15/2026 Red Man Cave, Timple Valley, UT - There are three caves around here; 1st cave we can walk-in about 30ft long, 2nd cave is Red Man Cave that not far from 1st cave, about 200ft away, 3rd cave just above the 2nd cave. I have hike up to the 1st cave then heading to the Red Man Cave, my legs didn’t move, I was shocked. Now-a-day I just drive and more drive, I forgot how to hike steep sloop. Anyway my legs didn’t move, I came back without seeing inside the Red Man Cave.

Salt Lake, UT

8/15/2026 Salt Lake, UT - Mounts of salt in the salt company property are visible from the long distance. I am wonding about salt melt during raining day. The salt lake water level is getting lower and lower every year. At the same time, number of visitors are getting lower as well.

Stansbury Island RA, Great Salt Lake, UT

8/16/2026 Stansbury Island RA, Great Salt Lake, UT - Total 8 miles of hike in hot summer day, and sad thing was no RA found. There are ton’s of rocks, some rocks are suitable for RA, but nothing there. Many people use the public land for shooting range and shooting any directions. That’s the why no hiker around here.


Mellor Canyon, UT
8/18/2026 Mellor Canyon, UT - There are faded-out petroglyphs, not many, but still visible with the naked eye. Narrow canyon road; most rocks are volcanic rocks except RA site, which is sandstone. A problem is no parking lot; parked on the narrow roadside, a good thing was no traffic


Lone Boulder RA, Castle Dale Area, UT
8/19/2026 Lone Boulder RA, Castle Dale Area, UT - There are many rocks/boulders around here. This lone boulder: I belive to be fallen off from the higher side of the mountain, and all four sides of boulder have petroglyphs with differnet artists.

Butch Cassrdy's Boyhood House, UT

8/20/2026 Butch Cassrdy Boyhood House, UT - Highway 89 roadside attraction. He was a famous Amerian outlaw, train and bank robber. His boyhood house is still standing, of couse someone is taking care of it.

Red Rock Canyon, UT

8/20/2026 Red Rock Canyon, UT - Rock color changes to red all around here. It is beautiful red color rock formation. Traffic is heavy, someone goes slow, someone goes fast, little chaos.


Mossy Cave, UT
8/20/2026 Mossy Cave, UT - Beside the cave, there is a beautiful water falls and absolutely beautiful rock formation view. It is popular place, many people enjoy hike the short hike, and soak in the creek water.


Circle of Friend RA, Escalante, UT
8/20/2026 Circle of Friends RA, Escalante, UT - This pictograph panel is located on a large boulder that faces east at the middle of the steep slope. TH parking lot is small, fit only one car. The actual Circle of Friends RA is smaller than I expected. Besides the red pigment of the pictographs, there are some petroglyphs below it, I guess those pictographs and petroglyphs are from different artists.

Hole-In-The-Rock Heritage Center, Escalante, UT

8/20/2026 Hole-In-The-Rock Heritage Center, Escalante, UT - There are two beautiful large size framed pictures in the cortyard that the eye catcher. Those pictures are telling how difficult to went through Mormon pioneers incretable jouney in the Hole-in-the-rock road. You should to see those pictures if you have a chance.


Upper Escalante River RA, UT
8/21/2026 Upper Escalante River RA, UT - I have visited three RA sites: #1 is a smaller size of petroglyphs on the bottom of the large rock wall, #2 is a little larger than #1 in size of petroglyphs, and not far from #1 on the large rock wall, #3 is partially visible large-sized pictographs in the large stanning alcove. Around here, there are many beautiful rock canyon walls all over.


Escalante Natural Bridge RA, UT
8/22/2026 Escalante Natural Bridge RA, UT - Cross the Escalante River numerous times and hike on the sandy trail. The bridge is large in size. A short distance from the bridge, there are ruins in the middle of the larger cliff wall, about 4th-floor high, amazing to see it. RAs are on the large rock wall near the ruin.


Deer Canyon RA, Escalante, UT
8/24/2026 Deer Canyon RA, Escalante, UT - I have two waypoints for petroglyphs and pictographs sites, but those are gimmicks; very disappointed. Hiked around to find the petroglyphs site, but couldn’t find the pictographs site, called the 34 Red Men panel. Crossed the Escalante River four times; beautiful area.

Dance Hall Rock, Escalante, UT

8/25/2026 Dance Hall Rock, Escalante, UT - This is roadside of the Hole-in-the-rock road. The flat area of the front of large red rock alcove that least 100 people can dance at the same time, but parking is the problem, only space for a few car.


Willow Gulch RA, Escalante, UT
8/26/2026 Willow Gulch RA, Escalante, UT - A ranger told me that RAs are all over, but you have to find them. I had no clue where to look. Luckily, I found one faded petroglyph, then found many more petroglyphs after that. Originally, there were petroglyphs all over the cliff walls, but some are faded and no longer visible, and some are still barely visible. I wish I were here 1,000 years ago.
