Witch Well Canyon, Arizona
12/2/2024 Witch Well Canyon, AZ - Short stop to the Witch Well Canyon RA site. When I was here last time, later afternoon, and sunlight was not a good position, so that stopped by before noon this time to take the best photos of petroglyphs, but couldn’t find it. Oh no...

FarEast, PFNP, AZ
12/3/2024 FarEast, PFNP, AZ - There are many suitable boulders for Petroglyphs here and there in this area, but I found only one RA panel with several figures on it, but all faded out and hardly recognized the original figures. It is a beautiful red rock area, nice day to explore even not many RA panels, I enjoyed hiking.

Porter Canyon Upper, AZ
12/7/2024 Porter Canyon Upper, AZ - The landowner kindly took me to the Porter Canyon Upper side and pointed out the RA panels. Shortly after hiking down the canyon to the dam, I noticed I’d been here before. There was a lot of water in the dam today, but it was dry before. I have hiked couple times in this canyon from nearly end of the canyon to the dam. So that hike cut shorter today. Weather was perfect for hiking.

Dave’s Site, St Johns, AZ
12/14/2024 Dave’s Site, St Johns, AZ - I stopped by the Jaramillo store in St Johns, and the store owner told me about this rock art site. The site is located on the side of CR-4365, panels are visible from the road. There are many boulders suitable for the rock art. One of the figures is just like an alien.

Jaramillo Wash III, AZ
12/15/2024 Jaramillo Wash III, AZ - Jaramillo pronounces like 'Ha-ra-mi-yo' which I learned from the Jaramillo store in St Johns. Today I have hiked the Jaramillo Wash flat layers, when complete one layer, another layer is visible, repeated a few times, in the black rock area that mixed with white rocks. This layer after layer hike was a fun hike.

Jaramillo Wash IV, AZ
12/16/2024 Jaramillo Wash IV, AZ - This place is just outside Arizona, on the New Mexico side, but close enough to call Arizona. No hiking trail, hiked in the wilderness area. I found some petroglyphs, but most are faded out.

Black Knoll, PFNP, AZ
12/17/2024 Black Knoll, PFNP, AZ - The Black Knoll is located on the mesa, from the mesa, it is like a flat hill, however from the bottom of the mesa, it is like a good size mountain. To reach the Black Knoll, the dirt road, CR-7002, is well maintained. I tried to reach the bottom of the mesa, but the cliffs were too steep and couldn’t find a trail to go down. Many beautiful areas especially red rock areas.

Largo Creek, Fence Lake, NM
12/22/2024 Largo Creek, Fence Lake Area, NM - I accidentally found this petroglyphs panel. Usually at the end of the short road around here is a corral or water tank or both. But I couldn’t see any at the end of the road from far view, then found the petroglyphs panel on the boulder. It was a nice surprise. The petroglyphs panel is big and busy panel, it made my day.

Fence Lake Area, NM
12/23/2024 Fence Lake, NM - It is a beautiful cliff walls area, cliffs are here and there all over around here. I wanted to find the rock art panels, unfortunately empty-handed even suitable boulders and cliff walls for rock art. The weather was nice, even couldn’t find the rock art, enjoyed hiking.

Moreno Spring, Fence Lake Area, NM
12/24/2024 Moreno Spring, Fence Lake Area, NM - Local a couple told me about this place, and said it is very steep. I was wondering, I can make it or not, try as much as I can, if I can’t come back. Turn out it was not bad, hike down the old faded road when reach the bottom of the canyon, hike the wash for a while. I saw full of water in the tank, then checked up the cliff walls, many graffiti made me disappointed. I was not here to see the graffiti, I was shocked. But soon I found a petroglyphs panel that was the only one I found, and a smile came out.

Catron Co Rd, Fence Lake Area, NM
12/25/2024 Catron Co Rd, Fenced Lake Area, NM - When driving on the Catron County Road, and found petroglyphs. Stopped by in the middle of the road, it was a one-lane road but no traffic and took photos. There are many boulders and cliff walls around here, I think can find many more rock art, but not today.
