5/16/2012  Warm Springs, NV - It is located at the junction of highway 6 and 375. Many structures and the horse corrals were made from the stones because of the shortage of wood in the high desert. The hot springs rather than warm springs is still keep coming strongly. There are abandoned a bar and cafe shop and hot swiming pool, where still hot water is keep coming in and out into fenced out the pool.

5/16/2012  Petroglyph Butte, NV - It is located between the Project Faultless and Moores Station. The Moores Station is privately owned and not open for the public. The petroglyphs are on the red and white rocks, when go through to the upper valley, the rocks color changes to plane white, see last 2 photos. I saw a house petroglyph that I am sure someone added not long time ago.    Rock Art

5/15/2012  Project Faultless, NV - This is the Project Faultless Nuclear Test Site. The tower at the 2nd center photo was the vicinity of the depth of 3,200 ft underground nuclear testing site. It was 1.0 megatons, about 67 times the energy of the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. There are many warning signs to not remove the soil from this area without permit from the US Government.

5/15/2012  Black Rock Lava Flow, NV - It is located across the highway 6 of the Lunar Crater, and 1/2 mile of the washboard drive to get there. The place filled with black lava rocks for miles. However surronding is the sand desert and the wind blows sand particles to pile up to build up the sand dune, which caused to the Lava field already started to getting under the sand dune that I saw.

5/15/2012  Lunar Crater, NV - It is located between Ely and Tonopah, and east side of the highway 6. It is 430 ft deep and 4,000 ft across impressive crater. There is no trail to hike down to the bottom of the crater. The name Lunar Crater came from when used it for the training of astronauts for the Apollo moon missions. The dry Lunar Lake is located near the crater, see the white area of the 2nd row 4-5th photos.

5/15/2012  Rachel, NV - This town is located by the Extraterrestrial Highway, which is the nickname of the highway 375 around here. If you don't know the town of Rachel, you may heard the Area 51. The Area 51 is the top secret Air Force Base that the nuclea testing site, and this is the closest town. This town is the famous for the UFOs and aliens. This Rachel town named after first baby born in this valley.

5/15/2012  Black Canyon Petroglyphs, NV - It is located west side of the highway 93 and near the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge Headquater. There is no sign or parking lot for this place, hike up to the rocky hill to find the petroglyphs. I found some but I am sure I missed some. I have visited at early morning to avoid the strong sun to hit the petroglyphs.   Rock Art

5/14/2012  Mt Irish Rock Art, NV - I found 4 distigushed places to enjoy the petroglyphs in this area, Monolith Echo Panel, Paiute Rocks, Shaman Knob and Shaman Hill. This place is located east of the Mt Irish and south from the White River Narrows. The trail guid, which this place has provided, indicates three more panels but I couldn't find it such as Giant Sheep, Chakra Sheep and Feet Panels.    Rock Art

5/14/2012  White River Narrows, NV - This place also called the White River Narrows Archaeological Distict, and located by the highway 318. The Amphitheater is the main petroglyphs panel and I found three more places to enjoy the rock art in this area. One place, when I was finding the petroglyphs, cows came and licked all over my car. There are very nice narrow canyons around this place. Rock Art

5/13/2012  Quinn Canyon Range HP, NV (LVMC) - This place is located north and not far from the Worthington Peak. The hiking distance was 3 times more than the Worthington Pk, and at time-to-time there were loose rocks that similar to the Worthington Pk. However we have to cross the creek 7 times. Only handful people reached to the HP since 2003. The snow patch at near the summit.  Road Map

5/12/2012  Worthington Peak, NV (LVMC) - It was only 3 miles and class 2 hike, however we hiked with 0.7 miles/hr speed, strenuous hike. There was no trail and path was rocky and steep. Only handful groups reached to the peak since 1993. Awesome thing was, when Eric drove up to the TH, many bushes were growing high at the middle of the road but no problem with his Nissan Xterra.  Road Map

5/9/2012  Cable Mountain, Zion, UT (OHCOSU) - The Angeles Landing and Observation Point are located just front of the Cable Mountain, the shuttle buses are moving just like tiny ants, and panorama view was gorgeous. Draw Works use to move the lumber, goods, people, and a dog, to the canyon floor 2,000 feet below in 2 minutes, where wagon trip would have taken 3 days for the same task.  Road Map

5/5/2012  Indian Hollow Trail, Grand Canyon North Rim, AZ (OHCOSU) - 'A Unique Grand Canyon hike on the North Rim of the Kaibab National Forest' was the title of this hike. The Indian Hollow Trail and the Bill Hall Trail junction was half mile away from we turn backed point, see the yellow line of the first photo. 5/5/2012  Dinosaur Discovery, UT - The official name is the St George Dinosaur Discovery site at Johnson Farm. This place was found by accidentally: Dr. Sheldon Johnson was preparing the land for future development and flipped over a large sandstone block that contained a natural cast of a dinosaur footprint. Many dinosaur footprints are displayed in this place, and some of are okay to touch it.

5/5/2012  Yant Flat, UT (OHCOSU) - No established hiking trail to get here, which means not many people know the existence of this place. It is beautiful place by rock configuration, color, pattern, layers and more. We stopped at couple view points but anywhere around here has a view, and its located at west of the town of Leeds and south of the Pine Valley Mountain. The extra time was a bonus.  Road Map
