The Sound of Music was true story and after the end of the movie, the family history goes...In 1938, Georg Von Trapp, his wife Maria and their nine children left their native Austria, leaving family, friends and all their belongings behind. The family made a life for themselves as the Trapp Family Singers, and toured six months a year in over 30 countries. In 1941, they purchased a farm land on the mountaintop property in town of Stowe a location that was reminiscent of their native Austria. After they retired as the Trapp Family Singers, they started the Trapp Family Lodge.
