7/5/2021 Schleichart Draw RA, North Cave Hills, SD - Petroglyphs are very thin carved and not visible until 5 ft away, a means very difficult to detect it and easy to miss it. There are many trees around here but just step out the Caster National Forest, there is only the grassland.

7/7/2021 North Cave Hills RA, SD - There are many caves in this area, I have checked inside the small cave and found some petroglyphs. Also there are many alcoves beside caves, I have checked but no petroglyphs or pictographs, only I saw was the graffiti.

7/8/2021 Davis Draw, North Cave Hills, SD - Hike on the grassland and steep slope to get to the cliff area. Faded out petroglyphs that I found, which little disappointed but nice vew was make up for.

7/8/2021 North Cave Hills RA, SD - This area has many caves, alcoves, clack opens and holes. Also nice tall flat cliff walls. I found faded out petroglyphs on south face cliff walls.

7/10/2021 Icebox Canyon, North Cave Hills, SD - Hike cross county on the grassland and climb up the hill to get to the bottom of the cliff area to find RA. I was hoping to find RA but not at this time that disappointed me. There are very friendly cows around here that made me uncomfortable, because I don’t know how to handle them.

7/11/2021 South Bluff, North Cave Hills, SD - It was cross country hike on the grassland, where grasses are knee high, not easy to hike because I can’t see what’s hiding under the grasses, hike one step at a time. There are many nice large flat cliff walls but no RA found.

7/13/2021 Ludlow Cave, North Cave Hills, SD - This is my 2nd time to visit this cave. There are more graffiti than before and petroglyphs are nearly gone, I found only one at this time.

7/15/2021 Three Finger Canyon, North Cave Hills, SD - There are separate canyons that made just like three fingers, RAs are located lower side of the cliffs that higher side of the hills. I found 4 separate RA panels, those are all small and easy to miss it.

7/16/2021 Davis Draw Reservoir, North Cave Hills, SD - Near the Davis Draw Reservoir, there is just like an island and RAs are there on high up. One left over small RA panel that I assume, part of the large panel that very bold and gorgeous petroglyphs, I was late by 500 years to see the entire beautiful panel.

7/18/2021 Bowman - Haley Dam and Lake, ND - It is a large size lake, but blue-green algae is take over the lake, which poison for the human, that the reason very quiet lake, there is no human activities. Sad lake, seems to no solution to solve the problem.

7/19/2021 Fort Dilts Historical Site, ND - It’s located at the middle of the fields. 1864 at this place, there was fort to protect from the enemy. However currently, there is nothing there, no remining of the fort, only signs. The main sign was made of the petrified woods.

7/19/2021 Van Horn’s Western & Antique Auto Museum, Marmarth, ND - There are three buildings, but I did only one building of self tour. There are many classic cars displayed side by side. Also display many posters, old photos, many more owner›s collections. Free ice cream after the tour is a nice treat.

7/20/2021 Castle Rock & Post Office, Colstrip, MT - Old Post office building and homestead building had been moved at front of the Castle Rock. Original location of those were coal mine site and, BLM and mining company agree to re-locate it. Actually I was looking for the RA sites, Ellison Rock and Recognition Rock but I could’t find it and seems to anyone knows it.

7/21/2021 Deer Medicine Rocks, MT - It is located in the Bailey family private property. It is register as National Historical Site. I had three tour guides, Bart, Holly and Molly, they were very nice, do you believe it 3 guides? There are many petroglyphs that stories associated it. Thank you Bart, Holly and Molly, I really enjoyed it.

7/22/2021 Castle Rock Lake, Colstrip, MT - This man-made lake is very close to the town of Colstrip. Nice size lake and many trees and vegetations around the lake. It is nice place to relax when smog from the coal mine generator doesn’t bother. The Colstrip town is the coal mine and coal generator town.

7/22/2021 Pompey’s Pillar National Monument, MT - This national monument is the smallest national monument, only 51 acres. There are some petroglyphs, but all faded out. I still couldn’t believe because graffiti made this place one of the national monument. There are many graffiti but one of graffiti, I should say inscription that by William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, that framed out on the tall cliff wall.

7/23/2021 Allen Creek Caves, MT - I had an information that 5 miles north from Custer, there are petroglyphs. I though this area, and caves are good place to look to find it, but only I saw was graffiti.

7/23/2021 Please Bottom Rd RA, MT - I found a panel, which someone told me. it is road side of the Please Bottom road. These RAs are not so old, seems to carved atop of the old figures. Also there are many graffiti around here.

7/24/2021 Ingomar, MT - This is a ghost town. It is historical town that a hub to commerce one time, when Milwaukee road and railroad completed. There is no source of water in this town, use to train to bring water every week. Seems to new people are move in.

7/25/2021 Petrolia Lake, MT - It is 'V' shaped lake. Parking space is a limited, which means no overcrowded in the lake and beach. There is no post but I believe the blue-green algae is growing and people knows it, so that I saw no human water activities, other than boating.

7/25/2021 Yellow Water Reservoir, MT - This place is a cow’s paradise. There are many cows and cows are enjoy water activities, so that no human here to enjoy.

7/25/2021 Wild Horse Lake, MT - Sad to see this large size lake has no water, seems to lake is dead. Weeds are growing in the entire lake.

7/25/2021 War Horse Lake, MT - This is a large lake and full of water in it and not far from the Wild Horse Lake, no water lake. I didn’t see any trees around the lake, however there is a pine forest south side of the lake.

7/28/2021 Little Bear Lake, MT - It is a good size lake, but totally dried up, sad to see it.

7/28/2021 Payola Reservoir, MT - About 50% of the reservoir is dried up, a means still water in it but dried up that my expectation. I saw cows and pelicans.

7/29/2021 Bear Gulch Pictographs, MT - This place is located in the private property and take tour to see the pictographs, cost me $20. Cliffs are made by layers of rocks, not one solid large cliff walls, pictographs are located one of the layer, a means all pictographs are smaller in size.

7/30/2021 Castle Butte, North of Pompey’s Pillar NM, MT - Do you know how many 'Castle Butte' does exist in MT? 6 does exist that I know of. I’ve tried couple but can’t find any RAs. I found couple petroglyphs sites this Castle Butte, but it was too hot. I’ll find main nice RA some other time, mean time I have to find where located it.
