1/1/2020 Cookes Town Site, NM - It was a mining town, currently not much left, ghost town. It is an isolated location on the middle of surrounding mountains. The road is rough, Bill gave me a ride one way, thank you, even his help, I’ve hiked 8.5 miles today. Epidemic disease killed many small children, their tombstones are in the cemetery.

1/2/2020 Deming NM - I saw very sophisticated wall picture and waterfalls from a large pot to another on the corner of the downtown Deming, I have to stop to take snapshot of it.

1/3/2020 Rockhound State Park, NM - This state park is not only surrounding by beautiful boulder sticking up mountains, also nice view of town of Deming, because located little higher side. There are variety of rocks and minerals, such as quartz, agate, opal, jusper, thunderegg and geodes, and you can take home as souvenir for those rocks.

1/4/2020 Butter Field West, NM - Hiked about 5 miles west of the Butter Field Trail to find RA. Unfortunately no luck today, but weather was nice, enjoyed hiking.

1/5/2020 Thunder Egg Trail, Rockhound State Park, NM - It was short hike. There are many Prickly Pear cacti all over the slop of the foot of the mountains, above that, there are beautiful rock walls all around it, beautiful place.

1/6/2020 Florida Mountains, Deming, NM - Elevation is not so high, but sticking up the boulders mountains are unique and beautiful, near the Rockhound State Park.

1/7/2020 Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS), NM - It is also called Blimp. My initial reaction was 'Fish in the sky', like a hot air balloon, but it does’t move. It is located at 15,000 ft altitude, surveillance radar to monitor the Mexico and US border from the sky by the US Customers and Border Protection.

1/7/2020 Luna Mimbres Museum, Deming, NM - They have many kind collections, which donated to the museum. One of collections is the Indian pots, bowls and dishes, amazing to see so many in one place. I really enjoy to see those.

1/8/2020 Faywood Rock Art Site, Faywood, NM - It is located by the road #61 side. Most petroglyphs are tall and large in size, all those are facing the road. It is not easy to see the petro, because color of rocks. It is in the private property.

1/8/2020 Santa Rita Copper Mine, NM - It is east of Silver City. It is an active large and one of the oldest mines in North America. Can’t see the bottom of the mine from the observation area because too much dust. One of the truck tires is displayed that about 7-8 ft diameter.

1/9/2020 Providence Cone, NM - Also called the Rattlesnake Peak. The peak is not huge but not easy to hike up to because boulders at the atop area. I found petroglyphs only one area that has a few petroglyphs, I was expected some more.

1/9/2020 Custom House, Deming, NM - This was custom house for the immigration, when Mexico and US border was here. The border was moved to 30 miles south of the current location by Gadsden Purchase Land, which added some land to both New Mexico and Arizona states.

1/11/2020 Apache Flat RA Site, NM - Next to the RA site, across the road, is a good size a pond that called the Apatche Tank. I was low expected RA in this site, so that when I saw it, I am happy to see it. Peacock eats the rattlesnakes, so that rancher keep peacocks.

1/12/2020 Spring Canyon State Park, NM - Near the Rockhound SP where this Spring Canyon SP is located. The road to get this park is like a roller coaster ride especially way back, steepest was 17% grade. There are many nice picnic tables with roof/shelter, only need is people to enjoy.

1/13/2020 Dragonfly Trail, NM - I had a luck today to see the dragonfly petroglyphs not only one, two, however last time I had no luck and I didn’t see it. I am happy to see it now.

1/14/2020 Solitaire Homes, Deming, NM - This is the site built hoe or ready built home. The factory is next door to the sales center and 25 models are displayed and ready to sell. Houses from 900 to 2,800 squire feet, 2 to 4 bedrooms, and price range from $40,000 to $150,000 that include delivery and set up, all you need is a land.

1/15/2020 City of Rocks State Park, NM - It is unique and beautiful city of rocks state park. A good thing is anyone can walk around/in the boulder of quiet giant monster forest.

1/19/2020 Hydra Trail, City of Rocks State Park, NM - The trail is one big outer loop of the City of Rocks. It is spectacular view of the City of Rocks from the trail.

1/22/2020 Pancho Villa State Park, NM - This is the southernmost state park in New Mexico. Only 3 miles to the Mexico & US Border. In the park, there is an Exhibit Hall to explain the history of this park and town of the Columbus.

1/24/2020 Palomas, Mexico - Kathy and Tom took me to Mexico today. Where to park, how to go through customers, which stores to see, without their help, I am sure I lost easily, thank you both. Pink House is the first place we have visited, there are all kind and very colorful items all over the store. Overall it was fun trip to Mexico.

1/25/2020 Columbus Museum, Columbus, NM - It is town of Columbus Historical Museum and Depot. There are three sections inside the museum, one is mainly the invaded by foreign army, Pancho Villa in 1916 from Mexico, another one is the train deport, and last one is a cultural history of this town.

1/29/2020 Alamo Mountain RA Day 1, NM - This is my 2nd time here, I have approached from the west side of the Alamo Mountain at this time that the TH with 'Alamo Mountain Access' sign. I found many petroglyphs, some panels are large in size but most of are smaller panels.

1/30/2020 Alamo Mountain RA Day 2, NM - There are many RA and continue to find some more RA today. Today I was looking for extended area to yesterday, and found many more RA. I really enjoy to finding many RA in this area.

1/31/2020 Alamo Mountain RA Day 3, NM - This is more isolated area compare to last couple days. I was lucky to find many more RA in this area. I found the Shaman like figure petroglyph that I wanted to see it, when I saw it that made my day.
