8/1/2020 Graves Creek Falls, Thompson Falls, MT - This waterfalls are the only one waterfalls round here. There were the Thompson Waterfalls in the town, which name of the town got it, was gone by the dam. So that I wanted to see the waterfalls, people send me here.

8/1/2020 Perma Rock Art, MT - Rocks around here have very high content of metals, when oxidized it, color of rocks changed to red color, where pictographs are red color, which means very difficult to distinguish RA or not. Gabriel and his girlfriend, Alyssa, showed me the pictographs, without their help, I never find it, thank you both.

8/1/2020 Cascade Creek, Lolo National Forest, MT - There are many tiny waterfalls in this creek, right now there is not much water in the creek. After rain, this place is spectacular cascade waterfalls, I think.

8/3/2020 Giant Cedar, Ross Creek Cedars, MT - Paved narrow road for 4 miles drive from the main road to get here. There is a loop trails between many tall giant cedars in this area, absolutely beautiful place.

8/3/2020 Lake Pend Oreille, ID - It is a nice large size lake, however all lake shores are privately owned, which means not many places to public to enjoy this lake.

8/3/2020 Indian Painting Rocks, WA - There are couple places for Indian Painting Rocks that 25 miles apart, and Painting Rocks are protected by wire fence. All paintings are red color pictographs.

8/5/2020 Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, WA - It is beautiful area, nice lake, nice rock walls. I am sure RA does exist, but I can’t find it. If I can see the RA, this place is perfect.

8/6/2020 Hamma Hamma River, Olympia NF, WA - There are so many people in this area, more than I expected. Many small waterfalls made this river pretty, but no place to easy access to this river. Beautiful trees forest around here.

8/11/2020 Palouse Falls State Park, WA - A large size waterfalls across the canyon that can see from the view point. When hike on the trail, there are some more smaller waterfalls to enjoy. Beautiful canyon area.

8/11/2020 Glade Creek Camp Overlook, Lolo Pass, ID - Lowis and Clark came here twice, first time for camping and second time for had a lunch. It is a nice wildlife area, tons of trees and bushes and mountains view, near the Lolo Pass.

8/15/2020 Painted Rock, Bitterroot National Forest, MT - Near the ID and MT border, bright yellow and red colored rocks, just like painted gray rocks by mad-man.

8/15/2020 It is road side by south side of the Salmon River and fenced out, I am wondering this is the same place as the Alpha Rockshelter or not? All red color pictographs. I found this place unexpected, lucky me.

8/16/2020 Salmon River Picto #2, ID - About 8 miles down the river from #1 site, its north side of the river, where #1 is south side of the river. The site is too close to dirt road and red color pictographs are all under the dust. The road is busy for river rafting activity.

8/17/2020 Opal Lake, Salmon-Challis National Forest, ID - Not many visitors because the road to get to the lake is tough, even 4x4. Cross the creek numerous times. I met cowboy and cowgirl, this is a good place to come with horseback ride. Very quiet lake, surrounding by mountains.

8/19/2020 Gilmore, ID - It is historical mining town, lead and silver mines, produced $11 millions in 27 years. New comers are move into this small town and town site is little higher and have a nice view.

8/19/2020 Charcoal Kilns, ID - Originally there were 16 charcoal kilns existed but only 4 remained, among them 2 art half top is gone. There is a hiking loop around kilns. It is located beautiful mountain range.

8/19/2020 Birch Creek Pictographs, ID - The RA site is located just below the mountain, but cross the private property to get there. Lucky me that the ranch was abandoned, so that free to hike up to get to the site. 4 main panels, all red color pigment, and many figures on each panel.

8/20/2020 Grand Canyon of the Snake River, WY - White rocks bottom of both side of the Snake River are remarkable, that located near the ID and WY border. Beautiful river, but to view is not easy, hike down the trail to get to the river.

8/21/2020 Jackson Hole, WY - This town is never stop expanding, always constructions are going on. There are packed of people, no Coronavirus Pandemic affect here. I didn’t spent too much time this time.

8/21/2020 Gros Venture Slide, near Kelly, WY - 6/23/1925 one of the largest earth slide in the world happened here. Altitude 900 ft across the valley, earth slide push debris down to the canyon. Still we can see those debris in large scale here.

8/21/2020 Potholes, Grand Teton National Park, WY - About 15,000 years ago, glacia ice created those potholes, the size of holes are between 15 ft to 1/4 mile. Today was not a good time to be here because more than a dozen wild fires in California sending smoke and visibility was bad.

8/22/2020 Dubois RA, WY - At last time, I did only half way and quit at the end of the lake, so that I thought I am missing some RA, but I don’t miss at all. No RA exist beyond the lake. Just follow the trails that takes to the RA.

8/23/2020 National Museum of Military Vehicles, Dubois, WY - It’s opened 2 weeks ago and privately owned. The owner spent $50 Millions to collect 400 vehicles, and another $50 Millions to displayed 200 vehicles, they are thinking to expand already.

8/24/2020 Johnny Trail, near Lander, WY - It is beautiful area and popular for biking, but no hiking. There are few options to choose the trails. I have hiked up to one of a peaks.

8/25/2020 Red Canyon RA, WY - I was here not long ago but dark rain cloud scared me, so that I have visited again to try to cover all. I recognized that I covered RA pretty good at last time. There are many RA on one large cliff wall.

8/25/2020 Green River Valley Museum, Big Piney, WY - It is a small museum from outside look, but 5 detached buildings outside. Three old buildings, school, post office and resident house, and store building and large museum. A tour guide is available, and explain everything you want to know that’s very nice service.

8/26/2020 Names Hill, WY - Nice way to say, it is 'Inscription Panel', but that the same as 'graffiti'. There are many someone’s name and year, all over the cliff walls. One of the inscription is protected by wire fence.

8/28/2020 JC Penny, Kemmerer, WY - JC Penny store was anchor store for almost every shopping malls. Present time, most shopping malls are closed, so that business of the JC Penny store is not good, but it started in this sleepy small town on 1902.

8/28/2020 Sun Dial, near Kemmerer, WY - It’s large, about 10 ft wide, I never see this much big sun petroglyph before. There is only this sun, no other RA around here. There is no sign, and only local know it, secret place indeed.

8/29/2020 Flamingo Gorge RA, WY - It’s located WY side of UT-WY border. RA are higher side of the cliff wall, but there is a trail on the higher up, just follow the trail. Graffiti is the problem here.
