6/1/2019 Tree in the Rock, Laramie, WY - A tree is growing in/on the rock. The location is an amazingly between west and east of busy I-80. There are a few sings and fenced out by tree and area also. Seems to truck stop area.

6/1/2019 Buford, WY - This was population one town, however store has been closed and owner has been moved out, which means population 0 (zero) town now. I-80 is very heavy traffic but no one wants to stop here, sad to see the population one town gone.

6/1/2019 WY State Capitol, Cheyenne, WY - The Wyoming state capitol was totally remodeling and construction zone, and totally closed for the visitors. Oh well, maybe visit some other time.

6/1/2019 Big Boots, Cheyenne, WY - Currently there are 25 big boots and the number is increasing. It is located all over the town, finding it is just like a treasure hunting, fun to walk around and finding it.

6/1/2019 Scotts Bluff National Monument, NE - There are both drive up road and hiking trail. I choose to hike up. Little over 3 miles round trip trail is all paved. The highlight of the trail beside nice view is a tunnel to go through. At the top, there are many people who drove up cars.

6/2/2019 Toadstool Geologic Park, NE - Beautiful area that created by wind and rain, eroding the soft cley. Many people spend one or two housrs then leave, hike only a short loop. There is not many hiking trails in this park.

6/2/2019 Sod House, Toadstool Geologic Park, NE - I never know that sod can built a house. It was common in the treeless plain to built the sod house. It is warm in winter and cool in summer.

6/2/2019 Agate Fossil Bed National Monument, NE - A rancher was found a fossil and invited a university professor to research, professor found some more. A rancher donated land and made a national monument.

6/3/201 Badlands National Park, SD - Beautiful place and so many people. Most people are enjoy by drive through, there is not many hiking trails in this park. This year enough rain/snow and green all over that contrast to badlands, more breathtaking scene.

6/3/2019 Notch Trail, Badlands National Park, SD - It is also called 'Stairway to Heaven', because there is a large and long ladder, just like climb up to the heaven. It is a popular and short hike but most memorable hike in this park.

6/5/2019 Sage Creek Campground, Badland National Park, SD - It is only 24 sites and fill up very quickly that a ranger said and he was right, also free of charge. A mazing thing was, 8 bisons visited campground and made all campers neuvious. Seems to they are use to it and enjoy all attentions.

6/5/2019 President Stature, Hermosa, SD - This statures are located roadside and in the campground property. It is white and upper body of three not so old presidents, Kennedy, Regan and Bush.

6/5/2019 Needles Highway, Custer State Park, SD - The highway is narrow and winding, and many cars on the highway, busy road. It is not free, fee is $20 to drive through. There are nice giant columns of granite, needles eye tunnel and needles spires to see.

6/5/2019 Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park, SD - This is very nice view lake. People are enjoying relax, walk around the lake. Also hiking trail of Black Elk Peak, highest peak in SD, is located side of the lake.

6/6/2019 Black Elk Peak, SD - Changed name from Harney Peak to Black Elk Peak couple years ago, so that bench mark is still Harney Peak. This is the highest peak in SD, 7242 ft. The view is wide nice view from the peak.

6/6/2019 Harney Tower, SD - This lookout tower is close to the Black Elk Peak, highest Peak in SD, and higher than highest peak. It is open to the public, but inside is empty. It is beautiful stone tower and amazing to see standing atop of the cliff.

6/6/2019 Train Ride Hill City - Keystone, SD - 2 hrs 20 minutes of train ride from Hill City ro Keystone and back to Hill City. Picked no window section to enjoy the view. Only not expcted was, we have to stay setting down all the time on the hard wooden seat, can not to walk around in the train.

6/7/2019 Thunder Falls, SD - Locals told me, the property was sold at that time county changed zoning and revoke a business license, so that a new owner can’t hava a business. Inside the cave falls are larger than outside falls, which I have photos.

6/7/2019 Deadwood, SD - All buildings in the town is registered National Historical Site. At the 1879 fire, they lost all buildings and rebuilt again. I was surprise to see few casinos in the town.

6/7/2019 Tatanka Story of Bison, SD - It was a guided tour, explained American Indian use to follow the bison, where bisons were their food and necessary source. In the field, the sculptures are artist’s creation based on the American Indian’s story.

6/7/2019 Friendship Tower, Mt Roosevelt, SD - Seth Bullock was friend of Theodore Roosevelt, president of USA, when Roosevelt die, Seth built this tower for their friendship memorial, couple months later Seth die. That was 100 years ago.

6/7/2019 Bridal Veil Falls, Spearfish Canyon, SD - It is located roadside of highway 14-A. There is a parking lot and view area, many people enjoy the beautiful waterfalls.

6/7/2019 Devils Bathtab, Spearfish Canyon, SD - There is no information and no one knows the exact location, but that doesn’t stop people are coming. Cross the creek a dozen times, waterfalls in the view. People can slid the waterfalls and down into the deep pool, which is the Devils Bathtab.

6/7/2019 Roughlock Falls, SD - Walkaway is very nicely done. There are upper tall waterfalls and lower short waterfalls, both combined to see from the lower view area, beautiful waterfalls.

6/8/2019 Spearfish Falls, SD - Located behind the lodge, the trail is very nice. Large waterfalls and creek runs front of the falls, beautiful waterfalls.

6/8/2019 Vore Buffalo Jump, WY - Rancher used a sinkhole as a trash dumpster, when try to built highway I-90, servery the sinkhole, then discovered buffalo bones that a beginning of finding many bones. Built I-90 around this site. They discovered 500 bones for 7% digging, if dig to 100%, then 7-8,000 bones will find.

6/8/2019 Geographic Center of Nation, Belle Forche, SD - Geographic Center of all 50 states, include Alaska and Hawaii, bench mark is in the private property and not many people visited. However there is a baautiful monument in the visitor center that 15 miles south from actual Cente of Nation BM.

6/9/2019 President Statures, Rapid City, SD - There are every corner of Main and St Joseph from 4th to 9th streets, there are president statures. I wonder those statures are actual size or not.

6/9/2019 Wall Drug, Wall, SD - Overwhelming this place that located in the middle of nowhere. Many signs at roadside of I-90, many cars parked near the store, many people there, and there are too many marchandice in the store. There are many small stores in the store. I am still not sure it is museum, amusement store or what? 220 employees during summer.

6/9/2019 Dignity of Earth and Sky, SD - It is huge stature located roadside rest stop of I-90, east of Missori River. The stature is native Indian lady dancing with costume to celebrate Dignity of Earth and Sky.

6/10/2019 Smith Falls, Smith Falls State Park, NE - This is the tallest waterfalls in NE, 63 ft high. There is a large bridge and bordwalk to get it. The waterfalls sound is not laud because falls spred out, very quiet area.

6/11/2019 Tulare Petroglyphs, Tulare Community Center, SD - One oval figure rock placed in front of the community center, which moved from 7 miles away. This rock has many figures of petroglyphs on it. White plaster in the petroglyphs to see clearly. Rare to have petroglyphs around here, flat field.

6/12/2019 Corn Palace, Mitchell, SD - City owned this place and it is an event center. All murals are made by corn, which use field corn rather than sweet corn, corn cobs are cut in half length wise to nail it, one famer grows 12 different colors of corns. Every year hire 20 students to re-do all murals.

6/12/2019 Porter Sculpture Park, Montrose, SD - It is I-90 Ex 374 roadside attraction. Self leared the art and blacksmith to create his own art work. Some of his art works are very good. There are many art works, I took photos of I like.

6/12/2019 Old Courthouse Museum, Sioux Falls, SD - I thought this is the museum for the old courthouse, but not the case, it is the museum of history of town of Sioux Falls. The courthouse was operated during 1890-1962 that time population of town was around 5-70,000, currently 150-170,000 and moved to large new courthouse.

6/12/2019 Sculpture Walk, Sioux Falls, SD - Phillips Av between 6th and 14th streets are full of sculptures, and call it the Sculpture Walk, a means nice to walk around where many art works are present.

6/13/2019 Pipestone National Monument, MN - The Winnewissa Falls and Old Stone Face are short hike to see it from the visitor center. Petroglyphs are use to in the field, but they moved inside the visitor center to protect it, so that display inside.

6/13/2019 Jeffers Petroglyphs, MN - There are more than 5,000 petroglyphs that the guide said, a guide use the shadow and mirror technique to show me some petroglyphs, without it can’t see it at all. Because rocks are on the ground and surface top, a means faded out easily.

6/14/2019 Towers in Time, Ponca State Park, NE - Three large towers surounding by center tower, those three towers has many nature figures, where center tower has 4 sides and Native Indian life figures.

6/14/2019 3 States Overlook, Ponca State Park, NE - Three states, Idaho, South Dakota and Nebraska are visible from this overlook point. Large wide Missouri River is just below the overlook and separated those states. Current of Missouri River is too fast and too strong and not good for a swimming and never freeze that someone told me.

6/14/2019 Ashfall Fossil Beds, State Historiacal Park, NE - A paleontologist happened to find the skull of baby rhino that first of many rhino skeletones. 12 Milion years ago a supervolcanic erupted and white ashes all over, and white ashes killed mammals. They were here to drink water, whaterhole, and die. Amazingly many white bones in one place.

6/15/2019 Trinity Heights Sclptures, IA - This place is located in Sioux City. This park is the religious park, all trees, chairs or tables, anything in this park is donted by in memory of lost some one. Two large scluptures dominated, one is male and one is female.

6/15/2019 Grotto of the Redemption, West Bend, IA - This man-made grotto is the largest in the world. There are tons of rocks, gems, petrofied wood, shells, added one by one by hand, see it to believe it, it is a large scale of fork art.

6/16/2019 Hokeye Point, IA - This is the highest point in Iowa, 1,670ft. Just drive up to get to the point, no need to hike up. It is located in the middle of farmer field, which means view from this point is just farmer fields.

6/16/2019 Green Giant, Blue Earth, MN - A large 56ft tall fibergrass stature is standing not far from I-90. It is promotion of the company, and they still make the peas and cornes canning here at the Green Giant Caompany.

6/17/2019 Caponi Art Park, MN - There are many trees and bushes, can’t believe residential area surounding at this park. Art sculptures and nature made harmony here. Nice place to walk around for short walk.

6/17/2019 Minnehaha Falls, Minneapolis, MN - Massive water is falling this waterfalls that located south side of Minneapolis. Many visitors, many steps to ge to the bottom of the waterfalls but worth it. Very nice waterfalls.

6/17/2019 Orfield Lab, Minneapolis, MN - Most quiet room on the Earth that located in this private lab. Hoever they charge $125 for 20 minutes use this lab. I don’t want to pay and I didn’t bring a project, so that they allowed me to take one photo of the lab.

6/18/2019 Gasoline Station, Cloquet, MN - This is not ordinately gasoline station, this gasoline station is designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, FLW. I’ve been to many, over 200, FLW designed houses/buildings, but never see a gasoline station before. It is a gasoline station and repair shop.

6/18/2019 Two Harbors, Agate Bay, MN - First I saw the ore decks, I thought what’s that? That train bring iron ore and dump it to dock, then load it to the large boat, the boat bring to processing facility. The breakwall is nice to hike on, and many people enjoy there.

6/18/2019 Gooseberry Falls, Gooseberry Falls State Park, MN - There are 3 distingushed waterfalls, upper, middle and lower. All those waterfalls are very nice and massive water is falling, and short walking distance on the maintained trail. There are many people enjoy it.

6/18/2019 High Falls, Tettegouche State Park, MN - This is the tallest waterfalls in MN, 60 ft. 2 ways to get there, without state pass hike 3 miles, with state pass hike 1.5 miles. A problem is waterfall view that only from side.

6/19/2019 Ely, MN - Came this town to see the pictographs, I didn’t know was that only a canoe to get there, located wall of the lake, I was so close but can’t see it, sad! I walk around the town. The road to get this town was excellent condition.

6/20/2019 Cross River, MN - Massive water is ruinning this river that makes waterfalls spectacler. There are parking lots both side of bridege side of highway #61. However fence on the bridge is too high to take waterfalls and people photos. There is no need to hike, roadside attraction.

6/20/2019 Temperance River, MN - Along the river, there are many waterfalls, and hiking trail is very clear. Water color is dark tea or roots beer color. Massive water runs narrow gorge that made hidden falls, and not easy to take photos of those. This is popular place, many people enjoy the waterfalls.

6/21/2019 Onion River, Ray Berglund State Wayside, MN - It is called stair step falls on Onion River. There few waterfalls, but not visible by many trees and bushes, that was disapointed. That the why I didn’t see people in this place.

6/21/2019 Poplar River Falls, MN - Two very nice covered bridges in the Lutsen Resort property, which is the lower side of the Poplar River. There are not tall but agressive two waterfalls near by the covered bridges. I have been to upper side of the Poplar River, but I didn’t see any waterfalls.

6/21/2019 Cascade River, MN - There are many nice waterfalls in short loop trail. A lot of water is running that made waterfalls just gorgeous. Beautiful waterfalls that means many visitors and this place is not exception.

6/22/2019 Upper Cascade River, MN - This is the upperside of the Cascade River waterfalls. 1/4 miles of short hike from the county road #158 to get here. There is a beautiful lake near by. But there are tons of tiny bugs bother top of the neck, they bits me a lot.

6/22/2019 Eagle Mountain, MN - This is the highest mountain in Minnesota, 3,201ft, and about 7 miles round trip hike from the trailhead. At the summit, there is large plate, not just like a small bench mark. View is all I saw was trees after trees and few blue color lakes.

6/23/2019 Devil’s Kettle, Brule River, Judge Magney State Park, MN - There are mainly two nice waterfalls. Devil’s Kellte is a half of waterfalls into the bottomless an unknown destination, a means disapper in the kettle. It is amazing to watch it. There are many wooden steps to go through this trail.

6/25/2019 Grand Marais Harbor, MN - Sun came out after couple days of rain, but windy and cold. I noticed that it’s not so cold for locals, where I was wearing a jacket. This place is not far from the highway #61 and visible from it. There are couple trails at the harbor that visitors to enjoy.

6/25/2019 Trestie Pine Lake, Superior National Forest, MN - It is a very quiet area and nice size of the lake. Seems to wooden bridge was here that cross the lake, some reason it had damaged and never re-build it, so that part of the bridge poles remind in the lake.

6/26/2019 Baker Lake, Superior National Forest, MN - It is very nice densed trees area but lot of bugs, I used bug spray a lot. There is not many places to access to this lake, a half dozen cars are on the parking lot at eary morning, but I don’t see anyone, I guess people are hiding behing trees.

6/26/2019 White Pine Lake, Superior National Forest, MN - Minnesora especially around here was one time white pine lumber of capital, cutted all white pine trees, but re-growing again that the sign said, that a good news. It is a beautiful calm lake surounding by trees.

6/26/2019 Poplar River, Superior National Forest, MN - This river at this section is a fishing spot for locals that I am thinking, because fishermen are long stay in the campground. The river is not large but with good flow of water.

6/27/2019 Magnetic Rock, Gunflint Trail, MN - Very high content of Iron rocks are all over around here, not only the Magnetic Rock. The Magnetic Rock is the man-made object, hard to believe it. It is 60ft tall and strong magnetic attraction, I brought a small magnet to prove it.

6/27/2019 Trails End, Gunflint, MN - This is the end of the Gunflint Trail Road, County Road #12, from town of Grand Marais. There are many places to stop by if you know what to do around here. There are many lakes and lot of access roads. The Gunflint Trail Road is paved all the way.

6/29/2019 Isle Royal National Park, MN - To get this place, need boat ride 1.5 hrs one way from Grand Portage. It is the largest island, actually combination of 400 small islands, in the largest fresh water lake in the world. There are over 2,000 mooses and I’ve hiked over 4 miles on the Feldtman Lake Trail, I saw no moose. I still don't know why this is a National Park even after visited, nothing special to see.
