8/1/2019 Concreat Park, Phillips, WI - There are many scluptures that made wih concreate, rocks and broken glasses. I thought this park is daiger for kids because very sharpe broken glassess edges that stick up from the scluptures. They use the same pattern for many items, a means mass product.

8/1/2019 Jurustic Park, Marshfield, WI - This is in the private property, but open for the public. There are many metal scruptures in the yard. Owner/artist was doing making sclupture for 26 years after retire from laywer. Some of scruptures are we can interact with to move it that fun part.

8/1/2019 Wisconsin Dells, WI - I have hiked up about 2 miles to see the dells of the WI river. There is a sand beach one side of the river, and river is wider at this area, very calm water flow. Also stop by WI Dells Center, which I didn’t know but it is amusement park and play ground.

8/1/2019 Upside Down White House, WI - This place called "Top Secret". It is upside down white house by the highway #12 roadside. It is a large in size and get anyone’s attention. Around this place, there are many attractions for a fun.

8/1/2019 Pewits Nest State Natural Area, WI - There are few good size waterfalls that people can slide down, and pool below it, people jump down into the pool from the waterfalls or near by cliffs. Water is not warm, cool side but that dosn’t stop people to enjoy in the water.

8/1/2019 Dr Evermore’s Sclupture Park, WI - He was idea man, idea was keep coming and too excited to create metal scluptures every day and no time to sleep and eat, which was not good that his wife said. He spent a lot of time to create sclupture that only he to understand it, but some of are we like it.

8/2/2019 Wisconsin State Capitol, WI - Parking was hectic, there is no free parking for visitors, only 25 minutes meter parking that I got. All white outside the building with classic design. Inside is the marble floors and walls. This capitol building is the center of around here town design.

8/2/2019 Witch House, WI - It is Mary Norl House, also called "Witch House" located by the Lake Michigan, nice location, and nice neighborhood. There are many her original sculptures on the garden made by concrete.

8/2/2019 Milwaukee Art Museum, WI - It is located by the Lake Michigan and beautiful designed white bulding. This building has three levels and arts are separated by the categories. There are many items displayed in this museum. Parking is not free.

8/3/2019 Field of Dream, IA - This is the "Field of Dream" movie site, located middle of the corn field. It was corn field before, movie company converted it into the baseball diamond and kept the diamond as is.

8/3/2019 Maquoketa Caves State Park, IA - This is a fun place to be with friends or families. There are many trails with 16 caves, walk/hike as much as you want. The cave is bat cave but I didn’t see any bats, but inside is a nicely cool. It is free of charge and all parking lots are full.

8/3/2019 Grant Wood Art Gallery, Anamosa, IA - Grant Wood is a famous artist of "American Gothic", the models are his 30 years old sister and his 61 yeas old dentist, original drawing is in the Chicago Art Museum. He had many pictures, but nothing original in this gallery, all his originals are spread into many large art museums, sad to hear that.

8/4/2019 Matchstick Marvels Museum, Glad Brook, IA - Used one tiny matchstick at a time to create those beautiful large objects. There are many but a few display in this museum. The museum opens 1pm daily during summer.

8/5/2019 Gallery Garden, Marshalltown, IA - This privately owned small garden has very good tast. Took my attention was vertical wall garden, beautifully done in large scale. Also display extremely nice pictures hanging on the wall. Lucky to have a cup of coffee or tea here.

8/5/2019 Reiman Garden, Ames, IA - It is located inside the Iowa University. There is a butterfly house but butterfly doesn’t fly in cloudy day, which I didn’t know it, and today was cloudy. The garden is divided by a few themes nicely.

8/5/2019 Railroad Museum & History Center, Boone, IA - If ride a train, this museum is free of charge, if not, they charge $8 admission. Inside museum is very organized, especially I'd like movie that started with horse, street car, and electric car, then end of the street cars. Outside, there are some old trains displayed.

8/5/2019 Boone & Scenic Vally Railroad, Boone, IA - Train ride from the Boone Train Station for 1.5 hrs and there was no stop. The highlight was go on the very high trestle. Train runs 1:30pm daily and some more special train schedule like dinner train.

8/6/2019 Mamie Doud Eisenhower, Boone, IA - This is the birh place of the wife of 33rd president of US, Eisenhower. This house is museum now, but I was visited too early and museum was not open yet. It was/is a big deal to locals, she went from small town to White House.

8/6/2019 High Trestle Trail, Madrid, IA - Wide concrete trail all the way to the bridge/trestle, which is the pedestrian and bike trail. The trestle/bridge is very uniqe and nicely designed. Sign said 2.5 miles but actually I spent 3.4 miles.

8/6/2019 Beed’s Lake State Park, Hampton, IA - They call it "Spillway", to me its "Waterfalls". It is man-made dam constructed by the CCC (Civillian Conservation Corps). It is very elegant waterfalls, because lide stairs, lower side is wider than above.

8/7/2019 Pappajohn Sculpture Park, Des Moines, IA - This park is located between 13th to 15th, and Grand & Locast streets. The park is full of sculptures, like outdoor museum. It is not related with Pappajohn Pizza company.

8/7/2019 American Dream Machines, Des Moines, IA - Just like a classic car museum, but not. It is a classic car dealer. They allow me to take photos of inside the show room of classic cars, all cars are spot less.

8/7/2019 John Wayne Museum, Winterset, IA - This is the John Wayne’s Birth Place museum, he was Western action movie star, who die 1979. He was a good actor and had many movies. A sad thing was, he never visited this museum.

8/7/2019 Madison County Covered Bridges, IA - These 6 covered bridges have been preserved out of 19 original covered bridges in Madison County, which is the covered bridge capitol of Iowa. All those covered bridges are retired from the actual road bridges, currently attraction for visitors. All red color outside, 4 are flat roof and 2 are triangle roof.

1. Roseman Coverd Bridge - Built in 1883.

2. Holliwell Covered Bridge - Built in 1880 and longest of 6 covered bridges, 110 ft.

3. Imes Covered Bridge - Oldest bridge among 6 bridges.

4. Hogback Covered Bridge - Built in 1884, 98 ft long.

5. Cedar Covered Bridge - Burned out by fire, re-built recently, original one was built in 1883.

6. Cutler-Donahue Covered Bridge - Funny thing is, this bridge is atop of the grass field not river in the city park.

8/8/2019 Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, Omaha, NE - This pedestrian bride is a beautiful bridge and runs on the two states, NE and IA. It opened 2008, but still like a brand new bridge.

8/8/2019 Holy Family Shrine, Between Omaha & Lincoln, NE - This is an unique church, first enter the office that underground, then the church is located atop of the hill, with nice design, all glasses and woods to built it. Finally cross is also beautiful design.

8/8/2019 Pioneers Park, NE - When I got there, it was too hot to walk or hike. They have many hiking trails, but I didn’t hike at all. I managed to took some photos.

8/11/2019 Brown State Fishing Lake, near Hiawatha, KS - It is a small and quiet lake near the highway #36. Locales are here to enojoy the fishing. The lake color of lake water is green rather than brown. The camping is free of charge.

8/12/2019 Homestead National Monument of America, NE - Homestead act offered 160 arcres of free public land to homesteaders during 1862-1986. No required US Citizenship, only intend to become US Citizen, requiments were a head of household, least 21 years old, use as farmland, build a house, live there 5 years. Only 40% success and 60% abandoned their claims that 10% of US total public land, and approximately 270 Million acres was settled by homesteaders.

8/12/2019 Rock Creek State Historical Park, NE - The Oregon-California Trail and Pony Express Trail were passed in this park. There is a creek to cross, and both sides of creek walls are little too steep and no easy way to cross it, built the toll bridge. Post Office, Pony Express barn, and bunk houses are still standing at original location.

8/14/2019 Gavins Point Dam & Powerplane, NE - This is one of the dams in the Missouri River, built 1957 costed $53 Millions. It is produce enough power for 30,000 houses. When I was there, all 14 spillways are wide open because too much water in the Lewis & Clark Lake.

8/14/2019 Lewis & Clark Visitor Center, NE - Located near the Gavins Point Dam. Lewis & Clark were visited many places and museums are all over after them, this place is one of them. They were here during their expedition, and displayed information about them.

8/15/2019 Missouri National Recreational River, near Niobrara, NE - Both part of Missouri River and Niobrara River are the Missouri National Recreational River. There is no easy way to access to it by car or foot, only way to access to it that the boat. Both sides of rivers are small hills surounding it.

8/15/2019 Niobrara State Park, NE - There are many up/down hills in this park. Nice view of Missouri River and Niobrara River. There are many nice cabins, more like houses, like 2 bdrm, kitchen, bath and patio with view, a good place to rejuvenate.

8/15/2019 Niobrara, NE - Visited a museum which has many items of town of old Niobrara. Estimated 40% of population is the Ponca Indians. US Government re-located them to Oklahoma in 1850, but they came back to their native land of Niobrara by Chief Standing Bear won the court battle with US Government. The name of bridge that cross the Missouri River, after him.

8/16/2019 Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, SD - Both open to the public with free of charge. Fish hatchery is one building and a pool out side are open to public. Aquarium has many chambers and fishes, turtles and frogs are in it. Fishes are all small to medium size no large fishes.

8/16/2019 Meridian Pedestrian Bridge, Yanktown, SD - This double decker bridge was converted to the pedestrian bridge in 2011. Its connected 2 states, NE and SD. There are many locks that locked up Love for forever. Before it was the part of the road that goes from Winnipeg, Canada, to Panama.

8/17/2019 Riverboat Days, Kankton, SD - This is 3 days event on 3rd weekend of August each year. They are expecting more than 100,000 visitors during 3 days event. Riverside and Mall are the main locations to enjoy, there are many vendors. Also a parade that runs in the main streets of town.

8/18/2019 Storybook Land, Aberdeen, SD - It is a large playground rather than an amusement park. It’s popular place for the family with small children. There are many statures that out of children’s books, no admission fee, but they suggested to ride a train to see entire park that cost $2.25.

8/19/2019 International Vinegar Museum, Roslyn, SD - I didn’t know that they don’t open every day, open only Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am-6pm. Today is Monday, I missed it. I am still wondering what International Vinegar Museum looks like.

8/20/2019 South Dakota Northeast Marsh, SD - Lake City, Sisseton, Webster, Ortley, area in these towns. It is beautiful area because there are many lakes, ponds and wetlands, but too much water, I saw a barn building in the water.

8/20/2019 Sunflower Farm, ND - Actually many places, there are sunflowers all over the farmer field, can’t see the end of the field. It is beautiful sunflowers everywhere, these are become bird food that I learned.

8/20/2019 Tallest Tower, near Blanchard, ND - KVLY-TV tower is 2,063ft high that North America’s tallest structure. It is standing at middle of the farmer fields.

8/21/2019 Carl Ben Eielson Arch, Hatton, ND - He was local hero and legend as flying pilot. He was first pilot to fly Alaska, he flew the first government mail plane, and much more. He die during rescue his friend from Himalaya. His house is a museum now.

8/21/2019 Grand Forks AFB, ND - Airplanes are displayed outside the AFB, some airplanes are large in size. No public access to the AFB nor tour to inside.

8/21/2019 River Level monument, Grand Forks, ND - 1997 river water level is the record high, the level line is located way high up. Seems to everywhere around here were flooded. At the same year they lost some downtown buildings by fire. They built protection walls both side of the river.

8/21/2019 Grand Forks Historical Society, ND - 7 buildings are in this property. All those buildings were donated to the Historical Society, some of were physically moved into here. Inside buildings were also donated and not related with outside. Very high flood protection wall is river side of the property.

8/22/2019 Pembina State Museum, ND - Take last exit before Canada on I-29 to visit this place. Pictures in the frames telling each own story. Many items displayed by theme. Free admission, but elevator to observation tower cost $2.

8/22/2019 Icelandic State Park, near Akra, ND - Inside the Pioneer Heritage Center, there are many display that related history of this area. There are 6 pioneer heritage buildings outside that include a church, hall, school, log cabin, barn and Gunlogson House that homesteader and got 160 acres of land by Homestead Act.

8/22/2019 Pembina County Museum, near Akra, ND - There are so many items, all in the large protected buildings. Farmers machines are display some of are in the building, but most of are outside in the yard. Church, Jail/Library and Train Depot are own buildings.

8/23/2019 Pembina Gorge, near Walhalla, ND - The gorge is large/long in size, I have visited variety of locations, even I have hiked Three Sisters Trail, but that was not a good idea because no water running in the gorge that area, all other places are water is running in the gorge.

8/24/2019 Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile, ND - This site is a former missile launch site, currently a museum, enter the security zone that drop 60ft below to the ground level of the launch control center that the front lines of American Cold War.

8/26/2019 World’s Largest Sandhill Crane, Steele, ND - It is called "Sandy" the Sandhill Crane, located not far from the highway #94 and Steele exit, ex 200. It is tall enough to see it from the highway. Gray body color crane.

8/26/2019 North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, ND - 60 million years old cannonballs and petrified trees that display at front of the entrance. This is my second time here, this is a one of the great heritage centers in US.

8/26/2019 Salem Sue, New Salem, ND - World’s largest holstein cow, a means daily cow, that 38ft high, 50ft long, weight 12,000lb, and has own name "Salem Sue". Its standing higher side of the hill and Sue is look down the highway #94, nice view.

8/26/2019 Enchanted Highway Sculptures, ND - The Enchanted Highway is between Gladstone to Regent, about 30 miles. It is enjoyable to see all giant metal sculptures one after another, total 9 of, such as "Goose in Flight, Deer Crossing, Maze, Grasshoppers Delight, Fisherman’s Dream, Pheasants on the Prairie, Toddy Rules Again, Tin Family and Whirly Gigs". The Grasshoppers Delight is World’s Largest grasshopper.

8/27/2019 Burning Coal Vein, near Amidon, ND - No longer burning, but it happened when lightning striks coal vein and burned coal in the underground. This are is beautiful rock formation area, just drive through is worth it.

8/28/2019 White Butte, near Amidon, ND - This is the highest peak in North Dakota, 3506 ft. Total 3.5 miles of trail hike. Surrounding this area is beautiful and very nice view from the peak, especially bottom or lower side of mountain range is all white.

8/28/2019 Dickinson Dinosaur Museum, Dickinson Museum Center, ND - Dickinson Dinosaur Museum is located inside the main museum building. There are dinosaurs, fossils, and minerals are display nicely. Also Joachim Regional Museum is located in the same floor.

8/29/2019 Outpost Park, Dickinson Museum Center, ND - There are 11 historical and ethnic structures in this park, such as train depot, church, school, general store/post office, printing company, community hall, chapel, homestead house and more. Just walk around is fun thing to do in this park.

8/30/2019 Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit, ND - There are many bison in one large area and near it, estimated about 210 of, that’s a lot. They are use to deal with human and cars, a means they came out to the road. I also saw about three dozens bison cross the Little Missouri River.

8/31/2019 Medora, ND - Park the cars every possible road sides of this town. There are many tourists and many family related events going on in this weekend. The town name is wife’s name who started this town.

8/31/2019 Cowboy Hall of Fame, Medora, ND - This is a cattle country, there are many ranchers, a means cowboys are everywhere. "Cowboy Hall of Fame" is listing more like local hero.

8/31/2019 Chateau De Mores, Medora, ND - Marquis de Mores who started town of the Medora. Also he is a son-in-low of rich banker Hoffman. His plan was to develop the meatpacking plant, spend $500,000 (equivalent $10 Million for today’s value), unfortunately his plan was failed. Chateau is a their summer home and inn that located atop of the hill with nice view.
