6/1/2018 Horse Collar Ruin, Natural Bridges National Monument, UT - Finally reached to the ruin, feel so good!!! Before it was impossible to reach to the ruin,then I saw from overview area that someone hike up to the ruin in unexpected way, I just copy it, it was easier to hike up. Two doorways resemble as horse collars that the name of this place got it.

6/6/2018 Paradox Valley, CO - There are many rock art (RA) sites in this Paradox Valley, only problem is I don’t know where located it. I try to search the RA every canyons in the Paradox Valley. One of the small canyon, I found couple RA panels, one has only few petroglyphs, near by another panel has incised (cut line) petroglyphs.

6/6/2018 Shaman Panel, Paradox Valley, CO - This is an amazing large panel by so many figures of petroglyphs on it. Only problem is not easy to get close to it, go through the dry waterfalls, which easy to slide down but difficult to scramble up, when I needed help ladies helped me out, if they were not there, I am sure I missed this place, thank you.

6/6/2018 Paradox Tower, Paradox Valley, CO - Back of this tall rock tower, there is some petroglyphs, but I was expected much more, so that sort of disappointed. There is a trail to get to this tower, which I didn’t know that before. However view from this tower is breathtaking.

6/6/2018 Magic Panel, Paradox Valley, CO - This place is listed on the 'Paradox Valley Petroglyph Tour' brochure and located at south side of the highway #90. Petroglyphs are on the lower left corner of the boulder, not entire boulder, there are many petroglyphs but all smaller size.

6/8/2018 Vision Relay, Monticello, UT - Mission of the Vision Relay is to cure blindness. It is 4 members team of bicycle riding that 525 miles from Moab to St George, ankle monitor pass to the next rider at the each exchange station. 56 teams or 224 riders participated in this year, where entrance fee is $800/team. Some bicycles are $8,000 to $10,000 each, heart monitor that reader is hookup to the bike.

6/9/2018 San Juan Stampede, Monticello, UT - This is a professional Rodeo and participants are from all over US, only 10% from Utah state. It has several different categories, such as bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding and more. All categories are judge by time, some times longer is better, some times shorter is better.

6/10/2018 Desecrated Panel, Navajo Nation, UT - The panel site is in the private property of a family owned in the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation. Petroglyphs are located south side of the San Juan River and on the huge cliff wall. Desecrated petroglyphs because the Medicine Man told that the way to avoid illness of the families.

6/12/2018 Kane Gulch, Cedar Mesa, UT - The trail is some times very narrow and some times very wide, well used trail and not difficullt to follow. When getting down and more down, both sides of walls are getting taller, which beautiful place to hike. I started hike early cool morning, when got out from the gulch, it was hot, this place is toasting, even not summer yet.

6/12/2018 Junction Ruin, Grand Gulch, Cedar Mesa, UT - This ruin is located Grand Gulch side of confluence of the Kane Gulch and Grand Gulch. There are two levels of ruins, upper level ruin is located upper side of the cliff wall and not accessible, I still wondering how to get there. I walk around lower level of ruin out side of the rope fence.

6/12/2018 Turkey Pen Ruin, Grand Gulch, Cedar Mesa, UT - Overall structure is similar to the Junction Ruin, two levels and upper level of ruins are way high up and not accessible, lower level of ruins are we can walk around. 5th row right most photo is the Turkey Pen or coop or cage, which this place name got it.

6/12/2018 Stimper Arch, Grand Gulch, Cedar Mesa, UT - This arch is not far from the Turkey Pen Ruin, about 500ft or so. The arch is located way up and no way to get to close to it. This is the end of today’s hike, I turn back from this site. I’ve hiked total 10.3 miles today.

6/14/2018 Abajo Peak, UT - The road goes to all the way to the peak, but as a peakbagger I need to hike to earn the credit, so that parked car at side of the road and started to hike. View was wonderful, I can see the Bear’s Ears, Comb Ridge, Blanding and Monticello. It was little cool side at the peak.

6/18/2018 Banner Panel, Montezuma Canyon, UT - It is white pictographs located on the ground level of north side of the Montezuma Springs. Alcove like area that protect it from the weather. It is so bold and appeal, just like a banner.

6/18/2018 Exercise Panel, Montezuma Canyon, UT - This petroglyphs panel is located little steep slope side of the wall near the Banner Panel. First I noticed that one of the figure is stretched out from exercise. Also noticed that one figure has about body length size of long ears/horns like.

6/18/2018 Montezuma Springs North, Montezuma Canyon, UT - 3 Separate panels located Montezuma Springs North area not far from the Banner Panel. Most of figures are faded out and not easy to see it.

6/18/2018 Two Horses Panel, Montezuma Canyon, UT - I was looking for the Hidden Valley and found rock art panels instead. This Two Horses panel is visible from the parking lot, it is located higher up the hill, scramble to get to close up to see it. One of the horses has a trademark, a means this panel is not very old.

6/18/2018 Play Game Panel, Montezuma Canyon, UT - This panel is located close to the Two Horses Panel, just traverse the hill to get close look. Seems to playing a baseball game like, one batter and one catcher, and standing behind the catcher is the umpire, what do you think?

6/20/2018 Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - I have joined to the full day tour to see the rock art and ruins. This Tribal Park is not open for the public except join to the tours. There are many beautiful cliffs, and Mesa Verde National Park is adjacent to this park. Cost of full day tour is $48 and transportation $14, with total 70 miles of drive.

6/20/2018 Ute Pictographs Panel, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - This red color pictographs panel is one of tribal family history, and modern age pictographs. Also they are keep adding pictographs onto the panels. A large horseback rider pictograph is the grandfather of our tour guide, and his grandmother and uncle are there too.

6/20/2018 Ancestral Pueblo Petro, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - There are many rock art sites and ruins in this tribal park that a guide said, but not all are open for the public. This petroglyphs panel is one of open for the public with tour, its not large in size but history come with. A few more panels near by but tour doesn’t cove it.

6/20/2018 Newspaper Panel, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - There are least three petroglyphs panels in this area, and all those panels are many figures in it. One large modern Indian figure is not far from those panels and not so old, I guess they are adding more petroglyphs whenever they want.

6/20/2018 Tree House Ruin, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - This is the first stop ruin for this tour. Use 4 wooden ladders to climb down from the top of the mesa to get to this ruin. Many tall trees are front of the ruins, not only visible from out side, but it is cool place.

6/20/2018 Lion House Ruin, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - Use to mountain lion family staid here that the name of this ruin came from. The technique of the builing ruin is different with another group, that showing here, lower and upper are built by different groups. There is a 'D' shape kiva. Black background is not by smoke, its plaster.

6/20/2018 Mores Five House Ruin, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - Seems to there are many Mores House Ruins in the tribal park, and this ruin is the #5 of Mores House Ruin. There are Incised rocks surface but I don’t call it petroglyphs, maybe they sharped knife like or something.

6/20/2018 Eagle Nest House Ruin, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - We have to climb up very steep long wooden ladder to the upper side floor to see the ruin. Also walk on edge of the steep cliff, there is no guardrail, and bend under the stick up rock to get into the ruin. When got into the ruin, we only can see one or two rooms, a means not entire ruin, where ruin has many rooms.

6/21/2018 Summer Solstice Tour, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, CO - The tour also called 'Sun Calendar Tour' by an archaeologist and she took us to three different areas. First one was light beam go through between cracked two boulders on Summer Solstice day. Another area has two rare phenomenons by Summer Solstice, one is hole like that sunbeams come through and another one is sun hit at the top of the shifted mesa area just before sun down.

6/23/2018 Flat Rock Peak (Kay Named), UT - This peak is located west side of the Abajo Peak, and just east side of Jackson Ridge. This peak was bonus peak for me, because must go through to way to the Jackson Ridge, which is my today’s destination. There are flat broken dish like rocks atop of the peak, loud sound comes when walk on it.

6/23/2018 Jackson Ridge, UT - I was expected shorter distance rather than 6 miles round trip hike. It is 11,164 ft elevation, cool temperature there and nice view all around. Its located west of the Abajo Peak. When I saw this mountain at Abajo Peak hike, I wanted to visit that wish came true today.

6/25/2018 Paradox Corral Petro, CO - This is the easiest place to see the rock art in the Paradox area, which I’ve missed before. There are many boulders around there and petroglyphs are scattered, here and there. I am sure I can find some more petroglyphs if spend some more time that leave it for the next time.

6/25/2018 Dolores River Hike, Bedrock, CO - I’ve hiked to the confluence of the Dolores River and La Sal Creek from near the Dolores River Boat Ramp. There are many beautiful red rock cliffs along the way, sad thing to see was not much water in the Dolores River. About 1/2 mile before the confluence, there are some petroglyphs on the few boulders.

6/26/2018 Hanging Flume, CO - Y11 Road is the short cut between Colorado Highway #90 and #141, and reconstructed Hanging Flume can view from this road. Hanging Flume was constructed 1890 for 10 miles long and total cost $173,000. At 2012 40 ft short segment of reconstructed Hanging Flume was cost $125,000.

6/26/2018 Colorado Pikeminnow Throughout, Gunnison River, CO - I had a chance to witness to release a good size Colorado Pikeminnow Endangered Throughout into the Gunnison River. The PIT Tag is embedded on the belly side of fish that smaller size than a grain. Pikeminnow Throughout is catch and release only.

6/27/2018 Shavano Valley Petro, Montrose, CO - This site is in the private property, and guided tour only. I got a private tour with Carol Patterson, she explained meaning of petroglyphs with Indian’s point of view that coordinated with their environment. Last stop was a boulder outside of the fence near the springs that has many figures.

6/27/2018 Ute Indian Museum, Monterose, CO - The museum is located south side of the town, and many teepees outside the museum. It is nicely organized inside the museum. I saw many accessories and decorating items.

6/28/2018 Range Creek Tour, UT - Range Creek is located south side of the Nine Mile Canyon. Waldo Wilcox sold 4,200 acres on 2001 for $2.5 Millions to the State, since that tour is available to explore inside the property. I’ve joined 13 miles one way tour that offer by Tavaputs Ranch, stop by many places to take look at granaries and rock arts.

6/28/2018 Range Creek Rock Art, UT - This is the part of the Range Creek Tour, too many photos, so that separated to this section. Most rock art are too far a way, and impossible to take photos with my camera, so that I took photos from the Tavaputs Ranch’s photos, but I saw all those rock art from the telescope that they provided us. Also we’ve hiked up to see it.

6/28/2018 Mecham House, Cleveland, UT - Jerry and Beth are very nice people and invited me to stay overnight in their house, 'Thank You' for let me stay. They are not only nice to me, whenever someone need help, they are jump in to help. Their basement is full of food that good enough for least 2-3 years. They tried to show me the petro sites, which I’ve been.

6/28/2018 Oville Pionia park, Cleveland, UT - This place is near the Beth’s house. This is one man’s project and getting donation of old original buildings and tools from all over around here. It is a museum quality, he tried to preserve it in a good way. There are several old buildings and many old tools and equipment.

6/29/2018 Grassy Knoll Petro, UT - It is located west side of the highway #191 from the rest area. Soon the road separated to two ways and I followed my GPS way-point. It was wrong road and decedent steep hill side to get to the destination. At the return I took on the road to way back. Many petroglyphs are on the dark red rocks on the ground side.

6/29/2018 Grassy Knoll Ruin, UT - It is not far from the petroglyphs site, little higher. Main ruin is located atop of the hill with nice view, and few more crumbled ruins lower side of the hill. Only main ruin is large in size, and all others are smaller size. I assume main ruin is like a Kiva, gathering place, and live in the smaller ruins.
