12/5/2018 Waterflow Panels, NM - By the busy highway #64 road side panels, the panels are only few feet away from moving vehicles, not so comfortable to enjoy the petroglyphs. There are many petroglyphs exist at group by group. I took photos of east half of the range, I’ll west side for some other time.

12/6/2018 Bisti Wildness, NM - I wanted to hike little father which I have missed at last time by rain. I got here at yesterday later afternoon that was nice weather, however today is cloudy and getting rain, when rain this is not a good place to be. A dozen of wild horses appeared from nowhere, didn’t stay too long, they disappeared shortly after.

12/6/2018 Egg Hatchery, Bisti Wilderness, NM - There are many large size hatching egg or cracked egg like rocks here, which is one of the wonderlands. Dark sky covered entire Bisti Wilderness area, I wanted stay little longer, but cut short by dark cloud.

12/7/2018 El Morro National Monument, NM - This is a tiny National Monument. Rock formation is impressed, and the pool that center of the entire park, is larger than I thought. People came to this area for many years because water is available by this pool, some people made ruins, petroglyphs, and inscriptions here.

12/7/2018 Inscription Rock, El Morro National Monument, NM - There are many old inscriptions, 1800s, on the wall near the pool. Some of are incredibly beautiful inscriptions, I don't know how to carved so beautifully on the rock wall.

12/7/2018 El Morro Petroglyphs, El Morro National Monument, NM - Petroglyphs are much more than I expected. It is competing with inscriptions on the rock wall near the pool. There are two types of petroglyphs we can see from this area, one is curved, and one is incised.

12/7/2018 Atsinna Pueblo Ruins, El Morro National Monument, NM - This site is located upper side of the hill and was excavated and leave it to show to public what it looks like that very nice. There are many rooms, according to the Internet, total 875 rooms and occupied by between 1,000 and 2,000 people.

12/9/2018 Madrid, NM - It is tiny town, which was the coal mine town before, now a tourist town and a lot of unique art stores both side of the street. I found some modern petroglyphs. When I was there, all stores were closed, they open the store not early morning. I think visiting each store is fun thing to do.

12/9/2018 Tome Hill Park, NM - Located southwest of bottom of the Tome Hill. There are metal sculptures, each one has four identical metal sculptures and placed few inches apart to get special effect, so that if see it from side, it is not make sense, see 4th row 1st and 2nd photos, one from front and one from side view.

12/9/2018 Tome Hill, NM - This is a popular place for an annual Good Friday tradition for pilgrimage to hike up to the top of the hill, where three large crosses are placed. I’ve hike up to the peak because some local told me, petroglyphs are located at the top, which was false.

12/9/2018 Tome Hill Petro, NM - I didn’t know the exact location of the petroglyphs but started to hike up the hill, and found some petroglyphs at east side of the hill. Later I checked there are some more petroglyphs at west side too.

12/9/2018 Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, NM - I was lucky because it is the best time to see many birds in this area that a ranger said. This is wide area and feed birds by crop the grain, corn and other necessary foods for the birds, which attract to birds. I saw many Crane, White Geese, Turkeys and more.

12/10/2018 Pecan Farmer, NM - I saw many same kind trees, but I had no idea what kind trees. I stopped by to ask harvesting farmers, most workers speak only Spanish, but one of the worker, who speaks English explained the whole process and let me take photos. Shake the tree, see 1st photo, becomes 2nd photo, then pick up Pecan from ground by machine.

12/10/2018 Tonuco Mountain Petro, NM - I’ve tried to approach from west that suppose to shorter hike, but all private property and wire fence was all over. Next I’ve tried from east, which is public land and success. I found a lot of petroglyphs in one area, I’ll post all photos at the Rock Art section.

12/11/2018 Lucero Canyon Petro, NM - Petros are on the rusted color rocks/boulder/rock walls. I was finding one cluster after another, there are many and maily located south face side, if hike up on the left side. I’ll post entire photos on the Rock Art section.

12/12/2018 Frying Pan Canyon Petro, NM - The site is located just north side of the Frying Pan Dam, actually that the only place rocks/boulders exist around here. I found many petroglyphs, usually south or west sides but that doesn’t apply here, it exit all around.

12/12/2018 Faywood Hot Springs, NM - There are three sections, one is nude in public pools, one is clothing required in public pool, one is private. There are many small pools, but no large pools. I chosen clothing required public pool and enjoy conversation with strangers.

12/12/2018 City of Rocks State Park, NM - Flat all around here and suddenly rocks are stick up in this area. It is weird phenomenon to see it. According to a ranger, volcanic activity at 35M years ago that the cause to happen this area. Walk around and in the between rocks is fun thing to do. An Owl was near my camp site and watching me.

12/12/2018 City of Rocks SP RA, NM - There are some RA in this park, all those are by the campsites. I showed an owl that stay near my campsite to next camper, and he showed me all RA in the park. He also mentioned me the annual camping pass for NM SP is cheap way to enjoy camping.

12/13/2018 Dragonfly Trail, east of Silver City, NM - This trail name from the dragonfly petroglyph. I thought easy to find the dragonfly petroglyph, I was wrong, I couldn’t find it. But I found some petroglyphs, so that not totally disappointed.

12/14/2018 Alamo Mountain Petro, Otero Mesa, NM - I didn’t know the exact location, all I know was west side of the Alamo Mt. I hiked up to the middle of mountain and I couldn’t find it. Way back I took different direction, there is no hiking trail, and found a lot of petros. I took around 150 photos, I though I have enough and came down. I am very positive that there are many more petros, I’ll go back there again some day to find many more petros.

12/14/2018 Butterfield Station Ruins, Otero Mesa, NM - I never know there are large size ruins, I found accidental when I’ve hiked up to the middle of the Alamo Mt and look down. There are many creosote bushes covered this area and not visible from the ground. I saw a herd of Pronghorn Antelopes, which is common around here that I learned later.

12/15/2018 Hueco (pronounced Whey Koe) Tanks SP, TX - This is my 2nd time here. They have three mountains, North Mt, East Mt and West Mt, which is Texas's standard to call mountains, but more like hills, to reach the top of the peak by less than 1/2 hr of hike. Only open for public is the North Mt. It is popular place for practicing climbing rocks.

12/15/2018 Mescaleno Canyon, Hueco Tanks SP, TX - Joined to RA #1 tour that going to the Mescaleno Canyon in the East Mt. Stopped 4 places to look at RA, mainly pictographs, 1st stop was graffiti panel, 2nd stop was faded out pictos, 3rd stop was red pigment of masks pictos, and 4th stop was cave picto dominated by white pigment pictos.

12/16/2018 Chain Trail, Hueco Tanks SP, TX - I had a spare time at morning but not much to do in this tiny SP, there are many signs to keep us out because people did graffiti before became SP, so that we are all punished today, not make sense but true. I’ve hiked this trail before, I did again to kill my time at this time.

12/16/2018 Cave Painting, Hueco Tanks SP, TX - This is one of few places open for the public in this park, I’ve been here before but no place to go in this park, so that visited again and took some pictographs photos.

12/16/2018 Base of Three Mts, Hueco Tanks SP, TX - This is the RA #2 Tour to cover the based of three mountains. Beginning of few stops were only one pictograph each, then became each panel has few more pictographs. Some pictographs have the own name, such as Star Eyes Mask, Quetzalcoatl Mask, White Horned Dancer and more.

12/18/2018 Largo Panel, NM - I found only one panel, which has a few figures. It is located middle of the cliff, so that climb up steep slope to reach to the panel. View from the panel is very nice canyon view.
