10/31/16 Olancha Dunes, CA - It is located southeast of the highway #395 and #190. The sand dunes are not too tall but spread with wide area. White sand with touch of beige color in it. There are road to get to the sand dunes but some spots are very deep by blowing sand by wind.

10/31/2016 Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, CA - Oldest tree by non clonal, one seed origin, exist here that the 4,850 yrs old. I leared that less bark, outer layer, is more older. Oops Moment: A guy got a permit from the Forest Service to cut the tree for his Ice Age study, that tree was turn out be the olest tree, 5,200 yrs old 50 years ago, which is 400 years older than current known oldest tree.

10/30/16 Keough’s Hot Springs, CA - There are 2 pools, one is 104°F for soaking, and another one is 91°F for swimming. Soaking pool has a roof, so that even rain outside, we can soak, but swimming pool has no roof. $12/person for one day admission.

10/30/16 Red Rock Canyon, Chidago Canyon Road, CA - One lane road in the narrow slot canyon on the Chidaga Canyon Road that west of highway #6. There are petroglyphs, but I can’t find it, rain on-off weather, I decided to find someother time. All rocks color is red and nice place to explore if weather is nice.

10/29/2016 Benton Hot Springs, CA - Hot springs tub and room in Inn is packaged, only hourly soaking tub is November to March. When I got there, wedding was going on and all sold out, even I had no chance to take tub photos. West side of the town there is the Benton Range that beautiful rock formation.

10/29/16 Mono Mills Historical Site, CA - Its located near the southeast side of the Mono Lake. This place was established in 1879 by increased demand lumbers at the gold mining booming town Bodie, which 32 miles north, constructed railroad to transported lumbers by train. When abandoned in 1917 by ended gold booming.

10/28/16 Desert Creek Petroglyphs, NV - Petroglyphs are located not far from the Desert Creek Ranch, about 200-300 feet south. I believe most petroglyphs were gone or deteriolated by the weather, sad to see it.

10/28/2016 Desert Creek, NV (5 miles) - It is located near the CA border, south of the small town of Wellington. I have hiked until road cross the creek, heavy rain overnight and creek is lot of water, I return back there. Nice canyon view here.

10/26/16 Stocking Fishes, Bridgepoint Reservoir, CA - They released about 2,000 Brown Trouts, the truck drove 7 hrs from Oregon to get here. Many fishes were disorganized and swim to the shore, wrong way, I volunteer to help fishes to go to the deeper side. I learned that those hatchery grown fishes don’t know how to reproduce offsprings.

10/26/16 Bridgepoint Reservoir, CA - Snow atop of the mountains view from the north side of the reservoir was just breath taking gorgeous view. Water level of the reservoir is lower but releasing water that down the river need it.

10/25/2016 Wilson Canyon, NV (5.5 miles for 2 hikes) - I was impressed this canyon when drive through and decided to hike. one hike was close to highway and saw nice pink like color rock formation, another hike was canyon with green color rock formation, those are same area but little apart. Nice place to have short hikes.

10/25/2016 Mason Valley Fish Hatchery, NV - This facility is the one of three hatcherys in NV. They produce 700,000 fished annuary in this hatchery, and sending it all over in NV. It is intensive care to produce good fishes such as right temperature, running water, enough light and oxygen, etc, etc.

10/23-24/16 Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area, NV - Seems to dry in this area, but pump up water to feed and enough water in the lakes and ponds. There are many lakes and ponds that sign said but I have visited only few. A large lake was converted into the farm land that was disappointed to see it.

10/22/16 Paradice Valley, NV - It is located northeast from the Winnecucca, and not far from Oregon and Idaho states. There are still standing old buildings in this small town. Nice mountains view and very quiet town.

10/21/16 Paradise Valley Hot Springs, NV - One large size tub, which need some more maintenance. Near the tub, there is place hot springs is originated, but yacky stuff growing inside it. There is large pool but fenced out, I just took a photo.

10/20/16 Winnemucca Sand Dunes, NV - Sand was heavy sand because it was rain not long ago. It is large sand dune but showing only few sand dunes, many sand dunes are weeds and bushes growing and looks like mountain. Wind blows sand onto the highway #95, so worker remove the sand couple times per year.

10/19/2016 Bog Hot Springs, NV - It is a long hot springs creek, maybe half mile long or so. I believe hot springs water is originated many places along the creek because hot water temperature are not much different any segments. Warning: Water is constantly running, but something in it and bit me all over the soft side of the body and itcyness started few hours later and last couple weeks.

10/18/16 Pint Hot Springs, NV - This hot springs is not soakable and fence around it with warning sign. The color of hot springs was amzing blue color. There is soakable hot springs near it, but I don’t want to drive father because on-off rain made road muddy and not comfortable to drive.

10/17/16 Dyke Hot Springs, NV - It is located south of Denio Junction. 2 hot tubs, upper one is 120°F and lower one is 115°F. Seems to too hot but in cold winter morning or evening 120°F is just right and at day time 115°F is a perfect. It is one person hot springs.

10/16/2016 Willow Creek Hot Springs, OR - This area is large wetland, I have hiked up to the hill near the campground to take look the overview, I assume there are many cold water springs in this area. Two soaking pools are side by side near the restroom, it is warm side in winter, not hot, maybe good in summer.

10/15/2016 Pillars of Rome, OR - All pillars are some kind green color, some of are light and some of are dark and everything between. It is beautiful place to be, however many pillars are located in the private property and I saw many 'keep out' signs.

10/13/16 Givens Hot Springs, ID - This hot springs has a long history. They have one large swimming pool, temperature between 90°F to 95°F, its a good for swimming but little cool to just soaking. Young people play with balls, there are many bolls in the pool.

10/12/2016 Jordan Craters, OR (1 mile) - There is black volcanic field all over here. The Coffeepot Crater that only access by car in this area. I enjoyed to see and take photos in the volcanic field. When I was there, few hundreds cows were marching that was rare to see it.

10/11/2016 Owyhee Canyon, OR (4.5 miles) - There are suppose to hot springs and Petroglyphs along the Owyhee River. I had an unaccuracy information and couldn’t find it, oh...well next time. But weather was nice, so that I enjoyed hike around there.

10/10/2016 Birch Creek, OR - it is the Birch Creek Historic Ranch area. To get this place, end of 5 miles was almost my nerve breaks down, steep, narrow and rough dirt road to drive down to get it. However the view was great. The Owyhee River is running this area.

10/10/2016 Juniper Gulch, OR (2 miles) - The distance is short only one mile one way but a lot of to see in this gulch. It is gorgeous rock formation everywhere in this gulch. I really enjoyed the view at the end of this short hike.

10/9/2016 Dogo Gulch, OR (4.4 miles) - This gulch is a sub gulch that run from the main Leslie Gulch. It was dirt road hike up to the cabin but cabin was long gone. There are spooky look rocks that otherway to express as honeycombed rock formation. It was nice hike.

10/8/2016 Leslie Gulch, OR - This is amazing place to drive through the gulch, wonderful rock formation everywhere, it is hidden jewel in this area. The gulch can access to the Lake Owyhee, water level is low and more like river rather than lake. Full campground by hunters, hunters are everywhere in the mountains.

10/8/2016 Succor Creek, OR - Very nice rock formation just like Zion NP. But I don’t like that too many hunters, it is hunting season in OR now, that caused by I was not comfortable to hike around the creek, even very nice place to hike.

10/8/2016 Lake Owyhee, OR - The lake is over 5 miles long and most of places only boat can access to it. I have visited below the Owyhee Dam, where releasing the water. Water level of the lake is seems to low, but view is just gorgeous.

10/7/16 Snively Hot Springs, OR - It is located by the Owyhee Lake Rd. Cold water is running in the Owyhee River, where hot springs water is very hot, mix it then just right to soak in the small man-made pool in the river. Nice rock mountain view from the hot springs.

10/7/2016 Vale, OR - Murals are located many places in this town. Some of are story come with, some of are faded out but mainly murals related with history. I found some of are very interesting.

10/6/2016 Mann Lake, OR - It is located by the East Steens Road, just stop by to see it. Large Albord Lake is totally dried but not this lake, still have water in it but water level was lower than maximum capacity.

10/6/2016 Mickey’s Hot Springs, OR - About 7.5 miles of rough road to get there, it is very hot water coming and not soakable, steams were coming many places. Snow on the high mountains at overnight and view of snow coverd mountains were just incredible.

10/5/16 Albord Hot Springs, OR - It is by the dry Albord Lake, where many people enjoy the wind surfing. The hot springs is two 10x10 pools, one is warmer than other, but both just right temperature. It is unbliable to hot water is keep coming in such a dry environment.

10/5/2016 Krumbo Reservoir, Malheur NWR, OR - This area has 3~4 years of drought condition that made dry everywhere that include ponds, lakes and reservoirs. I was surprise to see the water in this reservoir that not visible long time until top of the bridge. It was nice to see the blue water filled up the reservoir.

10/4/16 Crystal Crane Hot Springs, OR - They have one large pond and few small private tubs. Outside temperature was 50°F and 98°F hot water is coming but never feel hot in the pond, maybe it is a good in summer, but it was fun to soak in the pond.

10/3/2016 Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, OR - 3 distingushed rock art sites in the Malheur NWR, #1-Red color pictographs N of Harney Lake that on the OO road 5 miles west from the HW #205, #2-White color pictographs by the Cattle Guard 4 mils N of Round Barn visitor center, #3-Petroglyphs on the border of the Krumbo Creek Rd

10/3/2016 Crack in the Ground, OR - There are more than one cracks around here. I went through one large crack that was nice trail to go through. When got out otherside of the crack, I saw some more but I didn’t go another cracks. we can see the crack from the top of the crack, which is the flat area.

10/2/2016 Newberry National Monument, OR - I have been to the Paulina Falls, Paulina Lake, Big Obsidian Flow, East Lake and East Lake Hot Springs in the Newberry National Monument. When I got at the falls, snow started to falling, it was cold, but at the East Lake Hot Springs, hot springs water was hot enough to warm me up.

10/2/16 McKay Crossing Falls, OR - When I found out that the Pringle Falls has no waterfalls that was disappointed. However I was not expected such thing as the McKay Crossing Falls, when I found out, it was paid off. It is a beautiful and powerfull good size waterfalls. This waterfalls seems to never advertized, hiding quietly.

10/1/2016 Falls River Guard Station, OR - The Guard Station was built in 1933 by CCC for forest guard to fought forest fire. Behind the station, there is a very nice springs located, a lot of cold water is running out, amazing to see it. I was wishing it is hot springs.
