12/30/2015 Downtown Phoenix, AZ - The downtown was quiet today because of the holiday season. There are tall buildings standing in the downtown area. Historic Heritage Square is just beside the Arizona Science Center and nice place to walk around, there are some historical houses remain that the original townsite of Phoenix.

12/30/2015 Arizona Science Center, Phoenix, AZ - There were tons of small children, seems to the science center means for small kids indoor play ground. There are almost everything interactive way to enjoy the science. 2nd row center pic that my shadow collecting balls, where I was open arms and standing otherside of the panel, I never touch the balls.

12/29/2015 Pinnacle Peak, AZ (3.2 miles) - This place is northeast from Phoenix. We have hiked around the Pinnacle Peak, we didn't go to the peak. It is surronding by residential area and many people enjoy hiking or running. The rock formation is spectacular in this area.

12/27/2015 Metro Light Rail, AZ - The light rail runs between Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. It is comfortable to set and inexpenseve to ride, all day regular $4 and $2 for senior. Securities checked 4 times my ticket during one round ride. There is a large size flea market near by the station, it opens 4 times/week, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun.

12/25/2015 Rogers Canyon Cliff Dwelling, AZ (9.2 miles) - We started at the Rogers Trough TH, first 1.6 miles we were on the Arizona Trail. It was all downhill hike that was easy part, however way back was another story. We cross the creek numerous times to get to the Rogers Canyon Cliff Dwelling. The ruin cave is large in size and view was beautiful.

12/24/2015 Tom′s Thumb, AZ (5.8 miles) - Weather was cloudy all day and rain short period of time. It is located north side of the Thompson Peak, which I have hiked five days ago. This hike was all on the trail hike, and view of rock formations are wonderful. We have hike up to both The Lookout and secret cave.

12/21/2015 Quartz Peak, AZ (5.6 miles) - Suppose to hike one week ago yesterday but a day before the Sierra Estrella High Point was so intense hike and I needed rest. Since that I want to hike up to the Quartz Peak, I thought it is a trail hike, but not the case near the peak. The peak was not visible until half way up. At the peak, there is quartz all over.

12/19/2015 Thompson Peak, AZ (11 miles) - Hike on the Jeep trail, some segments are paved. There is construction going on at the summit, they try to built identical tower to existing tallest tower. View was nice from the summit but it was cold there.

12/19/2015 Dixie Mine Petroglyphs, AZ - There are several mine caves around the petroglyphs, nothing large in size, maybe 10 to 20ft long are the most. I think there are much more petroglyphs around here but fade away by weather.

12/17/2015 Gateway Loop, AZ (4.5 miles) - This hike started at 10am, which is my kind time to start hiking. Whole loop was middle of the cactus garden, there are cacti everywhere. Few nice mountains surronding to this loop, I'll learn the name of the mountains soon.

12/16/2015 Papago Park, AZ - I saw nice red rock formation from the top of the Hayden Butte. I have to visit this place, and visited sooner after the Butte. Many holes in the red rocks but the Hole-in-the-Rock is the largest hole in this park and established trail to get there. View from it was very nice.

12/16/2015 Hayden Butte Preserve, Tempe, AZ - This place is located center of the busy bisiness district and there is no free parking lot, $2/hr. The Butte is popular place, people are keep coming, more like non stop. There are some petroglyphs but not good quality.

12/16/2015 Mesa Temple, Mesa, AZ - Actual name of this temple is "Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter Day Saints" They have petroglyphs on the rock, I thought they have many more petroglyphs rocks but only one. They don't know who/when/why this petroglyphs rock is here.

12/12/2015 Sierra Estrella High Point, AZ (5 miles) - We climb up rocks, not easy but ok. However we took dry wash down that involved short version of class 4, after hike I have no energy left by tough hike. There are solar panes, sheds and towers at the summit, we all stay small area one side of the shed to avoid cold wind. Wonderful view from the summit.

12/7/2015 Tonto National Forest, AZ (3.3 miles) - I have started hiking from the Lost Dutchman State Park, Prospector’s View Trail, and Jacob’s Crosscut Trail (trail numbers: #53-#57-#56-#58-#53). The Green Boulder, 2,580 ft, is the highest point of this hike, which I missed. The trails were near the rock wall, and view of boulders were impressive.

12/6/2015 North Mountain Park Petroglyphs, AZ - I missed petroglyphs site yesterday, so that I have visited the North Mountain Park again to find the petroglyphs. There are couple nice petroglyphs in the center of the Archaeological Site, all others are small, one or two, petroglyphs in scattered direction.

12/5/2015 North Mountain Park, AZ (5 miles) - I have hiked clockwise to the Shaw Butte in the North Mountain park. Shortely after restaurant ruin site, 2nd row leftmost photo, I hike/climb up to the steep slope, there is like a trail that I thought the way to go up, when I reached the peak, there is a old road exist, easier to hike up from it, ahhhhhh.

12/4/2015 South Mountain Park, AZ (7 miles) - I have been to Pima Canyon, Holbert Trail and Dobbins Lookout. I found some petroglyphs from Pima Canyon and Holbert Trail. There is a castle on the Dobbins Lookout, and View from it was spectacular, downtown of Phoenix and all surronding mountains. The Marcos de NIza rock is in the cage.

12/2/2015 Wave Cave, AZ (3.7 miles) - It is located middle of the south side slope of the Superstition Mountain range. There are more than one caves, there is like a wave rock in the main cave, everyone enjoy this rock to pose and take photos. Another caves are just west side of the main cave. Nice day to hike and beautiful view around the cave.

12/1/2015 Goldfield Ghost Town, AZ - No entrance fee required in this place. Superstition Narrow Gauge Railroad that runs only couple miles but fun to ride and the Superstition Mountains view from the train was wonderful. It is fun place to be with all members of family.

12/1/2015 Siphon Draw, AZ (3.5 miles) - It is very popular place, even more popular in weekend that I heared. We started at the parking lot of the Mining Camp Restaurant. When started to climb up the slick rock, the view surronding was breathtaking, gorgeous rock formation, the goldfield ghost town and Lost Dutchman State park are just below us.
