1/27/2014  Two Tone Rocks, Valley of Fire, NV (2 miles) - One area of VOF has many two tone rocks, I stop by and walking round to enjoy nice sunny day. Actually I was tired from previous days hikes, easy and lazy hiking day today.

1/26/2014  Wonderland of VOF, Valley of Fire, NV (9 miles) - Accidentally found this place, it is the Wonderland of VOF. There are so many soft tone colors in the rocks in one area and not far from it, there are vibrant color of rocks in another area. No human foot print found, no visiter here. I definitely will visit this place again.

1/25/2014  Bowman Reservoir, Overton, NV - Bowman Reservoir was built to store water for irrigation use. I saw a nice refrection of the Virgin Mountain on the surface of the Bowman Reservoir. I asked to locals for the direction, they told me it is closed, but I tried anyway, confused yet it is open and beautiful reservoir.

1/25/2014  Arrow Canyon Upper, NV (4 miles) - I was looking for the petroglyphs, and hiked up to many canyons, 1st trail pic is eliminated any extra hike that I did. The Arrow Canyon view from the overlook point was spectacular. When I got at the dam, there were about 10 people try to climb down the dam to the lower side.   GPS Road File

1/24/2014  Logandale South, Valley of Fire, NV (11 miles) - My original plan was to hike up to the Logandale Ridge from south to north, however I turned wrong place and couldn't make it. At next time I have to start from the Logandale not VOF, so that more enough time to explore. But whole hike trail was very enjoyable route.   GPS Trail File

1/23/2014  Crazy Hill, Valley of Fire, NV (2 miles) - Try to find the unique spots to take photos in the Crazy Hill area that I did. The appearance of the variety of vibrant rock colors are depending on the location of the sun. I really enjoyed crazyness of the chaotic rock colors.

1/17/2014  Sloan Canyon Petroglyphs, Henderson, NV - This is the presentaion of the Archaeology of Sloan Canyon. About 150 people showed up, I was expected a dozen people, so very surprised. Dr Quinlan, speaker, spent three months there to fond out many petorglyphs and pictographs. Raffle winners, Jon got two and Jen got one.

1/17/2014  Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV - 'Free fun in Vegas' meetup posted that the Bellagio has a nice indoor New Year display. This is the year of Horse and displayed many horses and Chinese items like chinese money tree, money, calligraphy and more. Enjoyed water show at front of the Bellagio, with nice music. There are many street performers.

1/17/2014  Stratosphere Tower, Las Vegas, NV - Free admission($18 value) for locals at all weekends of January. I enjoyed to seeing the SkyJump, Big Shot, Insanity and X-Scream, those are all thrill rides and not for everyone. This tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower (1,149 ft) in the USA. Very nice 360 degree view from the tower.

1/11/2014  Seven Sisters Overview Loop, Valley of Fire, NV (5.4 miles) - Mark 'C' indicates look up and look down of the Seven Sisters Overview point, and view was very nice. Entire hike, color of rocks are all red. It was whole body workout hike, I was very tired after the hike. I saw bighorn sheeps at the west entrance of the VOF State Park.    GPS Trail File

1/10/2014  Arrow Canyon, NV (5.6 miles) - About 2 miles from highway 168 to TH was rough road but only need is high clearance and no need for 4x4. First 2/3 of hiking trail was dried river/canyon bed and last 1/3 was dirt trail with green glass at both sides, lot of moisture. Petroglyphs, Dam and rock climbers are the main attractions here.   GPS Trail File

1/10/2014  Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge, NV - It is located west of the town of Moapa. It is refuge for the tiny fish called the Moapa Dace. There are many springs water originated around here that run into the Muddy River and feed the Overton Wildlife Management Area. It is run by the volunteers, no visitor center.

1/9/2014  Crazy Hill and beyond, Valley of Fire, NV (5.8 miles) - All kind vibrant colors of rocks make it called the Crazy Hill. I never know that the name of it but Bob Killer, a photographer from Oregon, told me so and helped me out to take my photos, thanks. I'll re-take photos when more sunny weather.   GPS Trail File

1/8/2014  Sawteeth Ridge, Valley of Fire, NV (5.4 miles) - There are two photos each for look up and down of the overview points: 'A' is the overview point of the Visitor Center Parking lot, 'B' is the South side overview point of the VOF. 1/7/2014  St Thomas Memorial Cemetery, NV - The town of the St Thomas is ghost town now, before town went under the Lake Mead, they re-located the cemetery to current location at 1935. It is on the hill and view is very nice. I noticed a Japanese name tombstone. I wonder how many Japanese use to live in the St Thomas?

1/7/2014  Overton Wildlife Management Area, NV - Enogh water and have several ponds to feed ducks and birds in this area. There are few camping sites for us to enjoy the birdwatching. However they have a duck hunting season, which starts tomorrow for this season, I was lucky to walk around today.

1/4/2014  Red Needle Loop, Lake Mead, NV (7.8 miles) - This place is located between the Frenchman Mountain and Lava Butte, and southeast of the Rainbow Garden. The group hiked about 5 miles loop, however I was lucky to hike longer loop. The rock formation views are worth to hike around here.   GPS Trail File

1/2/2014  Rattlesnake Canyon, Red Rock, NV (2 miles) - The distance was short but whole body workout scrambling and bush hiking all the way. Under the shade for entire hike and surprisingly we saw ice patches in the terrace area.   GPS Trail File
