12/26/2013 North Gate, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, NV (13.3 miles) - Since Crystal told me about North Gate where we were on the South Gate, I wanted to climb up to the top of the North Gate. It was long hike than expected but view was just breathtaking.

12/25/2013 Fire Cove, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, NV (6.1 miles) - I couldn't spend enough time at 3 days ago by short day light time, so I re-visited to spend some time there. Suppose to water level starts just behind 'End of Road' sign, but I have to hike 1.6 miles beyond the sign to see the water level. My GPS was indicated I was in the water.

12/24/2013 Fire Loop, Valley of Fire State Park, NV (8.7 miles) - This place is located west side of the White Dome. The White Dome parking lot was overflow because the holiday season, people are everywhere near the parking lot but not my hiking route. Entire loop I saw was the red color rocks.

12/23/2013 Stripe Canyon, Valley of Fire, NV (3 miles) - I was planning to have a big loop around here but after 1/2 mile or so of hike on the wash to the east, the view was not interested and changed mined and enjoy this Stripe Canyon area. There are many different kind stripes exist around here and I enjoyed different colors too.

12/22/2013 Fire Bay, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, NV - The name was attracted to me, I thought I can see the beautiful red rock bay, I was wrong, there is no red color at all. This place was continuation of the Charlie's Spring wash hike to get it, and found from the Google Earth. The day time is only 8 hrs and I spend all for this hike.

12/22/2013 Charlie's Spring, Valley of Fire State Park, NV (14.5 miles) - This place has water all year round that attract many animals and I saw many all kind fresh animal footprints. I hold a bear spray on hand and ready to spray at any time, fortunately / unfortunately I didn't see any animals. The mileage is both Charlie's Spring and Fire Bay.

12/21/2013 Pinnacles, Valley of Fire State Park, NV (6.5 miles) - At the beginning, heading opposite to the VOF and hiked for while on not much interested dried river wash. Sooner red rocks area showed up that the Pinnacles in VOF. Many rocks are sticking up that the name came from. 5th row rightmost photo is the Naturall Arch.

12/15/2013 Logandale Petroglyphs, Valley of Fire, NV (10 miles) - I wanted to see the east Logandale petroglyphs site from VOF. There were workers builing the wire fence and easy to found it, if I was there last week or before, maybe never find it because no indication of it. Also I stopped by to the main Logandale Petroglyphs site.

12/14/2013 Silica Dome, Vally of Fire, NV - The Silica Dome is visible from everywhere around here. I saw the Meetup group was atop of the Silica Dome. It is short steep hike up to get to the peak and view from the peak is a breathtaking, can see the 360 degree of VOF view.

12/14/2013 Fire Canyon, Valley of Fire, NV (5 miles) - Many people just see the Fire Canyon from the overview points, today I hiked down in the Fire Canyon. There are so many branches of canyons and no trail to follow. I enjoyed my instinct to hike around in the Fire Canyon. The giant fire color rocks/boulders/hills/mountains are everywhere in the canyon.

12/13/2013 Hidden Canyon, Valley of Fire, NV (5.6 miles) - This is almost parallel to the Prospector Trail, run north to south, I found this canyon does exist when I was hiking the Prospector Trail, since that I wanted to hike in the Hidden Canyon. It is narrow and under the shade canyon, and not many visitors.

12/12/2013 Atlatl Rock, Vally of Fire, NV - Walk around the Atlatl Rock Petroglyphs site and found few more petroglyphs up the cliff, I'll posted more petroglyphs photos on my Rock Art webpage. It was fun to finding it and excited to found it.

12/10/2013 Top of the World, Valley of Fire, NV (3.5 miles) - The distance was short but scramble up and down most of the time, it was very good whole body work out hike. The view from the Top of the World was just gorgeous. It was beautiful sunny day, air was little cold side but we managed and enjoy the hike.

12/8/2013 South Gate Peak, Lake Mead, NV (8.6 miles) - This place is located north side of the Anniversary Narrows Peak and west side of the Bowl of Fire in Lake Mead. We saw the bowl of Fire from bird's eyes view and noticed the Anniversary Narrows Peak is way below. Whole body workout hiking to climb up to the peak.

12/7/2013 UNLV Pow-Wow, Las Vegas, NV - It is 2nd Annual UNLV (University Nevada Las Vegas) Pow-Wow took place inside the building. It was smaller scale of the Pow-Wow than I saw at last month, but great dancers and dramers were there. This Pow-Wow was participated by least three generations.

12/7/2013 Santa Run, Las Vegas, NV - This year was ninth year, about 12,000 Santas gathered at the Fermont Street to support the Opportunity Village that disablities community. Today's weather was unlikely Las Vegas weather, cold, windy and cloudy, but that didn't stop the Santa Run event, official title is 'The Las Vegas Great Santa Run'

12/5/2013 Goat Bed Peak, Red Rock, NV (6.5 miles) - I never know this peak does exist until Susan Murphy posted a photo on Facebook. The view was spectacler, can see the La Madre, El Padre, Gray Cap, Tutlehead, New Peak, and Kraft Mountain near by. 4th row leftmost photo took from south and next one from east.
